are there particular songs, or more preferably, whole
albums which remind you of a particular season, for one
reason or another?

here's my, er, top-4 which i can't help but link with a
particular time of the year (and specific weather,
obviously):

SPRING: Boards Of Canada 'MHTRTC'

invokes that "summer is just around the corner" sort of
feeling, when everything is slowly awaking from a
snow-induced slumber. sufficiently relaxing and
life-affirming to ease one out of the wintery gloom of the
previous season.

SUMMER: Travis 'The Invisible Band'

light, poppy, pleasant summery tunes, for when all you want
to do is enjoy the warmth and the sunshine, kick back and
forget all your woes for however long you can.

FALL: Arab Strap 'Elephan Shoe'

reflective, melancholy and miserably existential. for those
chilly days when all the leaves have fallen off the trees
and sheets of cold rain are pouring outside.

WINTER: Sigur Ros '( )'

breezy, glacial, depressing. gives off the sort of aura of
stillness which one normally associates with an ice-bound,
snow-covered landscapes.

no, not seasons....parts of my state of mind, my psyche...i
listen to music to put me in a certain mood, and i listen to
music depending on what mood i am in too...being a woman i
get lots of moods all the time...IT'S A CURSE!

I am not a woman but mood also effects what I listen to

i don't think being a woman has anything to do with it.
everyone's mood fluctuates constantly, be it the weather,
lack of, or too much sleep, etc. it's moreso just a pressing
need for diversity which everyone who has a relatively broad
taste in music experiences from time to time. in all
honesty, i couldn't ever enjoy just listening to one type of
music on and on.

Winters around here are very rainy and cold, and I got
Chiastic Slide on a very rainy day. It's imprinted on my
mind as such

I get that...where an album or track evoke very very
specific memories.

existence whatsoever either! =) though i did get to meet
and chat with mira calix - and she's the most friendly,
down-to-earth person i've ever encountered!
