for some good examples, you should check out my distro page,
WRECKED i carry alot of breakcore and try to stay up
on the new releases and labels.

breakcore is one strain of the evolution of hardcore techno,
mainly characterized by a mix of breakbeats, hardcore,
noise, and post-industrial sounds. of course, some people
take it to mean "broken hardcore", and include a wide
variety of sounds that break the "hardcore" stereotype. in
the scene you've got alot of folks who have come out of
rave/hardcore, d&b, grind, noise, powernoise. and folks
with a very diy attitude - alot of live acts/producers, not
so many djs. plus, in the past couple years you've seen
alot of increased interest from "idm" kids, so theres been
something of an exciting influx of new people, and labels
with interest.

theres of course, no absolute answer for who is or isn't
breakcore, but some key names to investigate include -
labels: praxis, ambush, subversion, zhark, full watts,
amputate, koolpop, suburban trash, peace-off, addict,
lowres, zod

artists: venetian snares, scud, noisecreator, doormouse,
abelcain, somatic responses, hecate, christof fringeli, alec
empire, rotator, slaaam, cpuwar, minion, cdatakill

and the list goes on and on of course.
there are also alot of exciting new artists taking breakcore
into different areas. definitely look out for xanopticon,
emotional joystick, curtis chip, donna summer, sickboy,
droon, dev/null/, resurrector....
