I know this has already been addressed but....

Has anyone ever been approached by a fellow Aphex Twin fan?

I went to a hardcore show tonight wearing an aphex twin
shirt. This guy approached me and was like "Dude you like
Aphex Twin? That's awesome I love him" We talked for a
couple of minutes and he brought up the Dillinger Escape
Plan cover of "Come to Daddy".

I thought it was really cool, I always secretly hope that
will happen when I sport my AFX shirt (usually I hope it's a
chick though).

This guy might even post here, if so.. hey it's me the guy
you talked to at the vegan cookout/show.

I had on my black Aphex T at the time.
He was a nice lad.

plastic' on vinyl and it was one of my first albums i bought
on vinyl, so i had it out on the table, and a girl came and
asked where i bought it. she said she loved sp and wanted to
pick up that album. heh

I've always wanted an AFX-logo t-shirt... I guess I'll have
to make one myself, somehow. Any ideas? I'd like a white
logo on a black shirt.

nothing specific, but I have witnessed a few cheeky grins
from people who have recognized my homemade aphex shirt.

just do a silkscreen, that is how i made mine, it is a
simple pattern so it isn't tough.

offline joakimlinden from Skövde (Sweden) on 2003-06-25 23:59 [#00757369]

yeah - but where do i find a silkscreen, and wouldn't I also
need a wooden frame for the screen to be fitted to?

Also... Are there special types of paint for fabric, I mean
- can you wash your shirt without problems?

I'm getting some money soon. Maybe I should try and buy a
shirt instead.

if ya got a printer then you can buy sheets of iron-on
transfers,

do your design on PC and then just print it out and iron it
on, it probably wont last as long as a silkscreen but it
worked out allright for me.

it's probably be easier to just buy a shirt then unless you
are going to want to screen other stuff (you can buy textile
ink for the screens you make that will last in through the
wash). don't go the iron on route, that will wear off in a
week.

don't go the iron on route, that will wear off in a
week.*

*that all depends on how carefully you wash it..

btw, I don't mind the weathered look after a week or two, it
kinda suits the cover of SAW2 :), and when it wears out I
simply make another...

but I guess it's all personal preference...

my silkscreen of the logo was my first ever screen, so it
looked pretty grainy, but in a good way, and atleast it
won't peel off iron on style...

hey mimi, since you seem so concerned about defending the
technique of the silkscreen over an iron on transfer then
could you show me a pic of your efforts?

sheesh i didn't mean to come off as really opinionated on
this subject. no big deal. i just suck at ironing, that's
all.

anyhow, do you really want a picture?

hey mimi, I'm not trying to have a go at ya? (I'm sorry if
it came out that way) it's all cool. (the more homemade
aphex shirts made the better!)

kind of rough looking, this is the second one i did. looks
a bit plasticky on this particular fabric.
