yeah, since everyone raves about em, I decided to get a
CD.

I got "musick to play in the dark 2"

its interesting... not sure if I like it or not...

It needs several more listens

I'm not the biggest fan of the later, more ambient Coil, I
like the more abrasive stuff from their first couple of
albums. Horse Rotorvator and Scatology are two of my fave
albums ever. MusickTPITD is pretty good. It was my intro to
them (Tits' radioshow).

I guess Love's Secret Domain is the most popular, from what
I gather... it's closer to IDM in parts. Sexy.

Thats actually a pretty sorry album...not
actually...Batwings is quite nice...but still...it doesn't
hold a candle up to stuff from Musick To Play In The Dark
Vol.1. And even that pretty much pales in comparison to
their Scatology-Horse Rotovator-Love's Secret Domain
trilogy. Those albums were just brilliant...

lackluster

Check out Horse rotovator and Black Ligth District.

Wow, I loved "Ostia" live! Has anyone seen the film about
the death of Pasolini?

cutups > but Love's Secret Domain is even less classic! ; )

LSD is a very special, it's the first album i got from Coil
and even though i like it very much it is unlike all other
Coil stuff i have - wouldn't recommend it for a first try,
it gave me a wrong idea of what Coil sounded like...

Musick To Play In The Dark vol.2 needed months for me to get
inside it, Musick To Play In The Dark vol.1 is certainly
easier to get into - but now i like both equally : )
'Ether' is quite sublime... and the last part of
'Batwings'...

Exactly, yeah... LSD is great and a lot of people go there
first, but it's not the best representation of their work...
but that would be impossible anyway.

''Gold is the Metal...'' is great too, same vein as Scat and
Horse.
