rdj album - sucks

there, i said it.
this is his most unengaging album under the aphex twin
moniker. i like three tracks on it: fingerbib, girl/boy
song, and milkman.
please, why is this album consistently rated better than his
others? its dull, repetitive, and the humor gets old fast.
also, why is hangable autobulb so loved?

it's rich's 'poppiest' album imo. i suppose in other words
he's toned down the more abrasive elements on it.

i still like it a lot, though. it's almost rdj's
two-fingered way of saying 'i could do it the "normal" way
if i wanted, look!'.

it goes without saying that windowlicker was an extension of
this outlook.

I still really like this album, it is better than Drukqs,
but not as good as ICBYD.

RDJ album is the best winter album EVAR

but i just think that because i bought it in the winter and
listened to it a lot out in the snow waiting for the school
bus - so i have all the songs associated with cold. :)

i dunno, i think the rdj album is still my favorite, saw2 is
probably my second.

i dont consider the girl/boy ep tracks at the end as part of
the album.. they're kinda lame. (except for girl/boy song
itself of course..)

all of his others have their moments, but arent as
consistantly good as those two, methinks.

"its dull, repetitive"

are you kidding me, you might find it dull for what ever
reason but you can't say it's repetitive! there's constant
change in the music, he puts so much into the tracks.

what are the RDJ works you don't find dull?

and not at all poppy :P......stop looking for emotion when

aphex works best live.. download his live sets and kick
back. i prefer his live versions of RDJ and ICBYD shit
anyday.

Aphex spits out albums to make cash... its not his true
format and it shows. Use them for mixing and the quality of
the tracks emerges.... i aint into single sit-through
listening sessions... mass it up, ardcore style i reckon!!!!
yeahhhhh

rdj album does not suck...
it's a very nice album.
I don't understand why many of you
compare the different albums to eachother.
It's the art that matters, and each album
is a piece on it's own.
Especially when it comes to artists like Aphex Twin who
makes each new album quite different from what he's released
before. I think it's a great album.

4 - always a classic... besides one of my favorite
track titles (now every time the number 4 is mentioned i
think of this track. and the color blue also. when i was a
kid, 4 was my favorite number.) 10/10

Cornish Acid - also a very good one, this one makes
me think for some reason of an astronaut floating in space.
i like the soft dark fluffy melody in the background
contrasting with the more happypoppy
RDJalbum-percussounds... 8.5/10

Peek 824545201 - also a very good one, and same pic
of the astronaut, except that this time he's drifting
towards a blue unknown planet (before, he was looking back
at the earth). i like this one a bit better than Cornish
Acid, for it has more spacey value, but most of the time i
think both are two parts of the same track (when i listen
casually to it while doing something else i don't even
notice the track change). 8.5/10

Fingerbib - nice. not much to say about this one
though, also a blue feeling to it. somewhat grey-blue
though. 7.5/10

Corn Mouth - agressive beats and very cool melody
lines, this one is more copper/slightly orange gold
coloured... 8/10

To Cure A Weakling Child - another classic 7\ song,
not better than the others but it's a nice change (all 5
tracks sounding a bit too much the same at parts)! i used to
not like this song a lot, now i appreciate it more : )
7.75/10

Goon Gumpas - yeah, this one is a bit too
happy-happy-childish-christmas for me... though i appreciate
it more than i used to. certainly not a masterpiece of a
track, but good enough after all. 6.5/10

Yellow Calx - joy, joy, a calx!! ^^ ALL calxes are
great 7\ songs and this one, even though it is my least
favorite, is no exception. i hope we will see another calx
someday in the future if it's as good as the others...
9.5/10

Girl/Boy Song - starts in a goongumpas-ish way... erm
:-/ gets on to a very good track afterwards :-) pictures of
fruit-trees in a garden. oranges, apples, cherries, etc.
(and then a boy and

a girl running and laughing in that garden, just to step on
a hidden anti-personal mine and BOOM! exploded!! no more
children!! yahahaha XD then adam and eve naked come in the
garden and... nah, just kidding.) 8.5/10

Logan Rock Witch - another nice change, a
cartoonesque one but not goongumpas-ish! a witch flying with
weird miscellanea, clocks, teacups, frogs, theines,
memorabilias, etc. around her, above a cliff on the shore.
it has a serious aspect to it as well beyond the
cartoonesque silly noises, and there is no other 7\ sounding
like it, that's why i like it very much. 9/10

do you really need to know why?
because i don't know why.
I like it, I like the RDJ album.
I can't say why... what do you want me to say? I like that
melody and that one, and oh yeah that beat's fine too.
I dunno man, it's got great melodies and a nice atmosphere.
It's Richard at his best. I like it and you obviously don't,

Yes! Exactly, it's a winter album. I never feel the urge to
listen to it in the summer. But on a nice winterday, it fits
with my mood so perfectly. All the beats and clicks sound
somehow soft and delicate. Like snow crackling under your
feet. And the melodies are just lovely. Sweet and innocent.
They remind me of my childhood. I adore this album! On some
days i would say it is my favourite album of all time. In
many ways it is absolutely perfect.

This album is fantastic, anyone who disses it is a
crumb-bum. It's colorful and eclectic and just plain
awesome. Rich is a sex God on the front, the tracks are
short and varied, etc. I think it still sounds fresh and
much better than anything else released in the last couple
of years. BOOYA.

Hm... well that's fascinating. How two people can interpret
