music...

I WILL KICK YOUR SAD ASS

The new track does nothing for me - maybe I'm not in the
right mood - or maybe it sucks just kidding hehehe but 20
times a day is good - kinda Isan-ish.

'isan'?
oh well, i suppose different strokes for different folks,
quite fond of liquid soap, meself
nice to know someone doesn't hate 'twenty times a day'
besides cortical stim, that is

Hm, that's odd - I had downloaded the i is silent and it was
playing again and I enjoyed it! I thought it was something
else -

Two criticisms - things are distorting in the left channel
and it doesn't sound deliberate - also the drums need more
of a groove and some variation in tone - that rolled off
monotone is dull -

honesty time!

I didn't like it. I think it was mainly the melodies, they
we're annoying. The drums reminded me a bit of Autechre, but
overall this track didn't do anything for me.

Also you mentioned you did the whole thing in 14 hours
straight? Although this is fun to do sometimes, I find the
best tracks that I produce are the ones that I work on for a
month or two. I like to hear my track many times in many
different moods, then I can work on it accordingly.

hm... thank you very much fleetmouse
i can completely understand how sometimes things sound
terrible the first time u hear/do them, hell my first sexual
experience was... but then ophecks made me promise not to
start a topic about that

anyways, yeah, the drums are something i've been looking at
a lot... the middle sequences of the first 4 or 5 minutes
are grand but the rest was too randomized to make sense,
also i'm planning on doing a more hit specific tweaking of
it all, so hopefully all that will change

and the distortion in the left channel is a balance issue,
mostly with the synths but the distortion on the drums seems
to combine with it (especially in the 64kbps .vr i had to
use for zebox, w/ it's fuckin' 5mb max) to create massive
havok THAT at least is something i don't think i'll have to
spend much time on fixing though

much thanks again
cheers

i suppose this is gonna sound assinine but i feel the best
tracks I do are completed in under 2 hours, and if i try to
alter them after that they go all to fuck

thanks a lot for your honesty- i'm really sick and tired of
the old 'i think the production is great, but it's just,
YOOOOU KNOOOOOOOOOOOOW, not my thing'

my apologies to anyone that's said that to me in the last
month
no apologies to individuals who've said it in more than that
and still vividly remember the interchange- u people need to
focus on the future, and ignore trivialities of the past

maybe but in order for me to hear it you'd have to record
it, hence making it electronic in my extremely liberal
definition of the word

indeed, better hide,
get rid of your t.v. your home phone and your stereo
even the melodic rings on your cell phone should be suspect
