Rank your µ-ziq!!!!

I've recently become obsessed with Mikey P and i'm looking
for the next buy. In order of my favourite to least
favourite, my albums are as follows:

1) Lunatic Harness
2) Tango N'Vectif
3) Bilious Paths
4) Royal Astronomy

I've been poking my nose around for the next Mike P release
and I've been fumbling through "Brace Yourself", "Bluff
Limbo", and "In Pine Effect".

Any suggestions? What is YOUR rank? Thanks guys (and
girls).

Nacmat, don't you find some tracks on Bluff Limbo like
"Twangle Fret", "Make it Funky", and "Metal Thing #3" a
little repetitive?
His layering of melodies becomes quite intense at times -
almost exhausting.

My favourite has always been In Pine Effect, but no-one ever
agrees with me.

Actually xceque, I think In Pine Effect might be better than
Bluff Limbo. It marks a true and noticeable progression
from Tango N'Vectif.

I think Mike went a little overboard with his pattern
sequencer on Bluff Limbo....holy crap melodies, melodies and
more melodies - it would have been better if he stripped
more away as opposed to adding it up.

With the exception of Tango N'Vectif, I'm wrestling with
anything before Lunatic Harness.

Actually, I didn't count the Auteurs vs µ-ziq, which is
really a remix ep I suppose. That's the best release he's
done. In my opinion. And I also really like Spatula Freak.

That's what I'm here for :D

I need to get my fuckin shit together and get Bilous Paths,
I've heard so much good about it but I've been too busy
sitting around doing drugs and listening to Radiohead all
the time. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing of course ;)

brilliant

I found Bilious Paths to be his most digestible release thus
far. Amazingly enough, his beautiful melodies manage to
seep through his rhythmic mess.

It sounds very futuristic and inspiring to me.

I think I like In Pine Effect better than Bluff.

I just find Bluff Limbo to have a complete disregard for a
bridge or anything that lets the chaos simmer for a few
seconds. Tracks like "Make it Funky" start with 1
layer...and then 2...and then 3....and then...40, with no
trim - just more and more loops and layers.

I love 'In Pine Effect'. Come on, 'Roy Castle', one of the
best he's ever written, what else, 'Melancho' john carpenter
for the electronic techno head age, Phiesope (not sure if
its the right title but the one with Kristin Hersh 'My
Ghost' looped into infinity). This and Tango'n 'vectif and
Lunatic Harness, are my top 3, although I reckon Jake
Slazenger's 'Make's A Racket ranks as some of his best work,
although not strictly U=ziq in name.. Yes.
