jdbgmgr.exe

search for it... if you have it, delete it NOW!!!!!!!

it is a dormant virus that norton cant detect. it has a
little teddy bear icon. GET RID OF IT NOW! it will lay
dormant for a few weeks, then destroy your cpu. it attatches
itself to outgoing email. spread this around. this is VERY
important.

I'm not sure of this.....I've heard messages before about an
exe file with teddy bear icon being a virus but it appeared
that it is actually a windows file and you should NOT delete
it. :\

i'm sorry if i'm wrong,
but i got this is my mailbox a while ago too, and later
heard something 'bout it being a hoax warning

the file does exist on many computers but it's an essential
file, and other than the warning says, the trouble only
starts when you delete it

i'm sorry if i mix this up with some other story, i really
read this somewhere

It's not really essential at all:

"If you follow the e-mail message instructions and delete
this file, you do not have to recover it unless you use
Microsoft Visual J++ 1.1 to develop Java programs on Windows
XP, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 98,
or Windows 95."

um, ok... here goes:

you suffered a great trauma comparable to that of witnessing
a car accident close-up. seeing your comorade in arms in
such a state of hyper-tension wore on you, and you need
approximately 5 shots of hard alcohol to bring you to your
senses.

damn I'm having problems with my computer lately and I
thought this would be the solution as I have that file on my
comp. Not,.fucking hoaxes.

Anyone having problems entering hotmail? server down or is
it just me?
Also every time I want to enter the "start" tab in the below
left corner of the screen my comp. crashes! wtf is this?

dunno 'bout that 'start' thing, that's sounds fucked up

hotmail failed on me too a few times today, so that's got
nothing to do with your computer i think

it maybe something to do with the fact that its a microsoft
product. there's no excuse for that 'nowadays'

yeah, there has been two hoax warning out...

one for jdbgmgr.exe (java manager something)
and sulfnbk.exe (module that makes windows store more
than 8 chars for a filename, i think)...

the best would be, whenever you get mails like that, go to
google first and search for the filename...

offline fleetmouse from Horny for Truth on 2003-06-17 15:58 [#00745221]

Tibbar - always always always do a Google for keywords when
someone tells you about a virus. 9 times out of 10 if the
alert came from anywhere other than a properly configured
virus scanner, it's a hoax and you'll wind up reading about
it at Symantec or Macafee.

Look what happens when you search for jdbmgr.exe

those mails almost always say things like "as featured on
CNN!" etc.

pff.

I just check on symantec.com.

I have NEVER encountered one which was geniune.

i've never heard of a virus that can physically destroy a
cpu, i think that's very unlikely

there was one apparently that could erase AWARD and AMI
BIOS's rendering the motherboard dead

these "warnings" are in effect themselves viri, as they
proliforate rapidly around the world clogging up email
servers, and scaring people everywhere... probably waste
nearly as many man-hours as a real virus
