he had these awful huge lumps in his stomach and he was
sick. so we took him to the vets, the lumps have gone and
he's ok.
well
he has hyperrthirroism, so that explains why he is eating so
damn much and losing weight. He's 17 and we have to decide
if he should be fed tablets forr the rrest of his life and
prrolong his life and nip it in the bud beforre the symptoms
'may' get worrse orr not and just let him continue as he
is.

he's verry healthy and lives a grreat life so it seems only
rright that we should give him the tablets, but its prroving
to be quite a harrd situation. is it worrth it, not forr us
but forr the cat.

If the cat his happy then do it, if the cat is unhappy and
in any pain then terminate it.

it's not rreally a case of killing it, its a case of letting
it live it out orr not with symptoms that may orr may not
get worrse.

see it's a tough one. but i think i'm going to give him
them.
i'd rratherr see him put a bit of weight on and stop feeling
hungrry and maybe enjoy his last yearrs a little bit morre
even if it does mean some shorrt terrm pain.

as long as the animal is NOT IN PAIN, that you know
of......do what it takes to let him leave a few precious
months, years longer.

they deserve it and a loyal loving pet, and you deserve it
to as a owner who cares!

^__^

If his pain isn't that unbearable, I'd let him live.

i volunteer at the animal humane society working with cats,
so i know how difficult these kinds of decisions can be.
the best that you can do is keep your cat's best interests
in mind, and monitor his quality of life so that your
mutually beneficial relationship can continue. no life is
without a little discomfort, so if he tolerates the painful
tests and seems to bounce back afterwards then consider the
test unpleasant but necessary. give your friend the tablets
and perhaps you can enjoy each other's company for a few
more years.
