Government in Sweden wants to stop the traffic of
copyrighted material on the internet. This means p2p
programs will be claimed illegal in 2004. =(

as long as the prices of albums stay at this level, piracy
will never stop. people will invent new ways to get their
music illegally.

well that basically makes the whole internet illegal. you
can still share files with others on the internert without
p2p

sounds like untechnical politicians talking shite.

i don't think that sweden will claim illegal p2p-software.
the problem is not the technolgy - p2p networks can make
sense in closed networks as well - it's the
right-managament. i think, we will see some other systems as
apple's itunes distribution very soon. once the industry
gains money with it, they will ignore illegal file
sharing....

never has a democratic state controlled such a diverse
medium as the internet is. you'd need extreme totalitarism
like in north korea.

even chine which still is a dictatorship can't control it
though they for example pay yahoo for not passing addresses
of dissidents websites (and yahoo, the oh so liberal
fuckers, take it)

so. errm dunno what this hasto do with p2p but i'm sure
there are ways for anyone to gain access.

p2p is not illegal and downloading files is not illegal but
sharing them is

that's totalitarianism
but otherwise i completely agree, we've every right to
'steal' this music from these lazy bastards who expect to
buy mansions for spending a couple nights making a fucking
pop song
fuck that, it's not worth that much, i mean, music means
everything to me- but i still don't think anyone deserves to
be living like that for making some lousy
tunes/programs/whatever

don't forget that lots and lots of people share
non-copyrighted material via p2p too, and this has become an
invaluble technology

Yes, P2P is legal. Sharing copyrighted material is illegal.
There is a difference.
