bamboozled ;)

maybe instead ill just twist random oscillator knobs and
amplification knobs and gate them.

then maybe ill win your heart over pantalaimon!!

The noise tracks sound like AFX noise tracks, many parts
sound like an extension of the end part of Come To Daddy.
Anyway I find them interesting, much more so than the remix.

the noise tracks are funny, manipulated screams and groans?
The run the place red remix is awesome, but created half an
hour before the record went to pressing

Run the Place Red is excellent, if a little generic... the
rest is embarrasing. Oh where oh where has Acrid Avid
Jamshred and its genius brethen gone, where oh where?

Nasty stuff...he has really run out of ideas.

And yes, that quote by Merzbow is right. These are noise
tracks because they are pop tracks. He is feeding his public
the same kind of predictable regurgitated pap that a random
manufactured pop band (no names taken) would feed its
audience. Perfect complacency in both listeners and maker. I
love this. And as I've said before, it is great to see
Richard do the great disappearing act. Up his own ass.

I'd rather listen to smojphace tracks 2 and 3 than that crap
acrid avid jamshred - what a boring repetitive track that is
- at least these two new tracks have variety in them.

there's more to those tracks than just variety -- for once,
I would love to hear all you decriers' attempts at a track
like that, and see how far you get -- it's like looking at a
mountain 200 miles away and saying 'that looks piss easy to
climb - anyone could climb that mountain'.

I agree Paul.

it still seems like people just can't hear how this is
interesting or beautifully musically and therefore it must
be really easy to make.
in other words, they are not able to hear the differences in
quality.

The noise tracks on smojphace are images translated into
data files translated into audio files.

I have tried and succeded at doing that before.

couldn't you (or someone else) post that pic and the quote
(explanation) from watmm in this topic?

i'd like to hear the comment from all the people who yelled
the noise tracks are great

offline Morton from out (Netherlands, The) on 2003-06-17 17:12 [#00745344]

i can see why no-one posts it here, it would be kinda
embarrasing for the people who liked these tracks and said
stuff like:
- the two noise tracks are great!
- I think this is better quality 'noise' than Merzbow
- they each have a lot going on in them, good dynamics, good
rhythms
- The sound tracks (not really noise) are very interesting
to listen to
- the 2 major tracks of smojphace don't sound like they were
knocked up in an hour.
- I would love to hear all you decriers' attempts at a track
like that, and see how far you get

etc.

let it be clear that i'm not having a go at someone
personally here, i also don't intend bashing the noise
genre, i like certain noise once in a while,
i'm only having fun over this whole matter in general, rdj
fooled you guys, admit it
he'll be having fun over this i'm sure

Oh yes, he will be having real fun over that. recorded the
second track to .raw and outputted it from his soundcard and
playd it back through his old school C64...funny how the
fucking screen is a TFT laptop screen...I must have missed

:) you can of course (still) find it interesting to listen
to ..
but replies about it being quality noise and being hard to
make just don't stand that strong now imo

i guess it doesn't take a genius to make tracks like these,
but it does take a genius to come up with a joke like this

funny how the fucking screen is a TFT laptop screen

it's pretty easy these days to link a tv to a pc y'know, the
c64 loading screen SMpenny sais is copy pasted must come
from somewhere too ey

anyway i'm not going to have anymore heated arguments over
this (sorry i quoted you too in that list braindance)
i doesn't really matter to me wether you believe it or not
:)
the tracks still annoy me whereas merzbow noise doesn't :P

these were my 2 cents five bucks

i have to drastically disagree with you on this one paul. i
cannot yet enjoy noise music, nor ragga techno, and i
certainly think i never will. i can listen to vsnares or
even gabber sometimes, and become amazed with the snares and
the insane beats, but noise....i don`t know. no emotion, no
leads, no...nothing.
ragga techno just sucks in my opinion.

smojphace is shit. sad but true

You can take or leave the two noise. I'll leave them
thanks...

I kinda like the Aphex remix of DA BUG's (who is known in
Germany as "Volkswagen" ;) ) "Run the Place Red"...in a way
that makes me want to run naked through a field, chasing
after Japanese schoolgirls and smacking their asses with a
long bamboo pole...

But that's just me.

fact that the noise tracks sound easily made and seem like a
poor merzbow-imitation attempt to me

Noise is Ultimate Enegy!! And only works on high
volume! It´s still not easy to make the right energy. And
the energy is so pure it´s very difficult to listen to for
most people in most moods. But in the right mood Noise can
give you a very very satisfing feel of energy flow, I have
good expiriences from noise gigs(Emi Maeda etc.). I haven´t
heard this release but I´m quite I´l like it, if it´s
interresting noise...
