yeah, so if you're serious about it, then check out Max/Msp (mac) or Buzz (pc). If your mommy and daddy have lots of $ under the tree for you this year get a Kyma system. If they don't, you can pr(a/e)y on their life insurance. Also: prtools. Q. Freeware? R. Yes. Developing all across the board, abusing freeware can be great. I recommend abusing it to your own tastes. By abuse I don't necessarily mean writing glitch oriented music, but do whatever possible to achieve the sound you want. Q. MaCintosh/PC? R. Tough choice. Mac with tons of great background in music creation. Pc with tons of great momentum (atlhough much of it shitty step sequencing programs). um: try not to buy software or hardware that will create a mold for you music will sound like. Much like frootyloops (although with proper abuse that can be avoided). shmacks, the pretension queen. DC BERMAN is an electronic god. |
