...fucked up "A Punchup at a Wedding" the unmastered
recording of it.. despite all unpatched-up editing problems
was much better . it was more playful w/ the vocal adlibs
and there was more overt textural vocal harmonizing etc..
this time it sounds like his mic was the loudest thing in
the mix and it was muted in between verses ..musically,
though, it's much smoother and cleaner

I love this album though.. although yorke called it "OK
Computer 2" I think this is more of a midpoint between OK
Computer and Amnesiac.. he also apologized publicly for it
not being as adventurous as the last two. apparently the
next albums (and subsequent releases) are by far the
strangest they've done.. either they're already recorded or
that's what they'll be going for..

there there has officially grew on me about a week and a
half ago.. I'm still trying to figure out why the initial
mixdown of this brought thom to tears.. uncontrollable tears
at that.. personally I couldnt find anything on this album
that would bring even the fragile thom yorkes of the world
to tears like that

why did they truncate "I Will"? I think it could have
benefitted from having the lead-in that the unmastered
recording did

"The Gloaming" is a mess. It suffers from VSnaritis in that
it has a lot of cool sounds that rhythmically have nothing
to do with each other just piled on top of each other and
posing it as electronic experimentialism.. I think this is
sloppy pandering to those expecting Kid B. It's still pretty
good thouhg.. the melody and that.

your thoughts on these points?

.. the word 'has' should be omitted from the paragraph that
begins with "There There" (there there has officially...)

Four Tet is remixing Scatterbrain. Can't wait to hear what
that sounds like.
