Anyone use this? I've spent the last 3 hours pissing about with this, trying to get it to output correctly to a MIDI keyboard...pfffffffffff

Are there easier/better products available?

You want it to send note info so a keybord will make the sound or vice versa?
I've dabbled with sibelius 1, but it's a bit overwhelming for me...

Well the idea from what I can gather is that when you play the notes in through the keyboard, you should be able to hear them through the PC speakers, and when you click 'Playback' you should also hear it.
The software is a minefield of settings....I just installed the software onto the network in work, and told the guys who it was for....they'd have to play around with the config. as it was above my head.

Ah right- just it is possible to do the opposite- enter notes on the pc and have it played back via the keyboard speakers :)
I've not actually managed to get software to see that midi keyboard you lent me, despite my phat boy and kaoss pad sending midi fine. Only thing I can think of is to make sure the cable is "midi in" going into the "midi out" port of the keyboard (standard convention, but often overlooked) and "midi out" lead the other end going into "midi in" on the pc. Make sure the keyboard is set to the same midi channel 1-16 as the software is listening on.

I know another few sites that use the software...so I can ask around there, but other than that, I think we'll buy someone in to configure the computers properly......even though that will cost $$$$

I use sibelius 2 at school, and 1.4 at home.
you have to make sure you've selected the right device to get it to record the midi inputs. Also, have u made sure the MIDI leads are in the right sockets - so many people at school get that wrong :S
