I think its really interesting that sometimes I see a sound
in color, and always when im listening to music I see the
songs in colors.

One "odd brain" experience frequently linked with artistic
genius is "
synaesthesia wich means "seeing" sounds, "hearing" colours.

Some have claimed the cross-referencing of one sense to
another as a source of inspiration for creative brilliance.
in fact it may be an "ability" any number of us have,
artists or not.

Rhubarb sounds more like a decaying blue to me...

Building Steam With a Grain of Salt by DJ Shadow sounds like
a nice deep scarlet...

Over the Horizon Radar by Boards of Canada makes me think of
the sky at night, with a few grey clouds.... quite a
beautiful image really...

i never really 'see' colors in tracks

i do get this feeling of textures of sounds flowing around
me when i close my eyes.. esp with the longer tracks on
geogaddi

deffinately,
if i close my eyes while listening to music, i generally see
fractal patters like phosphenes that pulse to the music.

I don't feel you archrival. But what I do experience
sometimes is certain movies and images in my head when I'm
listening to music.

roygbiv - purple
aquarius - orange [hehe]
the whole of confield i see as immense brilliant white

i also tasted music once.. it was autechre - stud
you know when you put a square (9v) battery on your tongue,
it shocks you and you get that weird acidic taste.. well it
was like that

Interestingly enough, i see fingerbig as Red. I also
associate it with sex, and kraftwerk for some reason. The
zipper in the start, and the sounds are kraftwerk like
perhaps?

The great russian psychologist a r luria spent many years
early in this century studying the phenomenal memory of a
man called S. in his classic book "the mind of mnemonist".

Luria recalls how he first uncovered the key to S's
extraordinary abilities. S was recounting a huge table of
data.... reading off the numbers from a mental image he had
created when someone coughed.

S faltered and complained that the cough had shown up as a
puff of steam on his mental image and interfered with his
ability to recall....

S's experience was a typical example of
"synaesthesia"="seeing" sounds, "hearing" colours.

He perceived an input in more than one sensory mode. on
being presented with a high-pitched tone S said "it looks
something like fireworks tinged with a pink-red hue.

The strip of colour feels rough and unpleasant, and it has
an ugly taste - rather like that of a briny pickle. you
could hurt your hand on this." LOL :)
