Anti ep 9 (love this one, too short though)
Basscad 7 (doesn't keep me interested all the way through)
Garbage 10 (perfection does exist)
Anvil Vapre 8 (distorted and good)
Envane 8.5 (loved this one from the first time)
Splitrmx 7 (good, but not "ae-good")
We are... 7.5 (too short, but okay)

it's actually their very first release ever.

Why do people like Cichlisuite so much ? I only like Krib on
this one, the other tracks sound dull and unfinished to

Ranking from 1 to 10, since that seems to be the POPULAR
thing to do... :P

Cavity Job - 3

Kind of a false start for them, has not aged well and was
probably better off forgotten for good.

Basscadet - 5

Not much here, either. Some shining moments, in
'basscadubmx' and Beaumont Hannant's mix, but nothing truly
comparable to later works. It gets an extra point for being
the only true remix EP of a single (Cichlisuite doesn't
count, IMO) they ever had, so it's valuable as a
collectable, in that sense.

Anti - 7

They manage to cut loose on 'Lost' and 'Flutter', 2 classic
Ae tracks, but 'Djarum' doesn't really go anywhere.

Garbage - 10

What Amber could've been is this: a well-conceived,
brillantly executed piece of music that shows what Autechre
can REALLY do when inspired and at the top of their
creativity. One of the best albums ever produced in the
"IDM" genre.

Anvil Vapre - 9

Deserves much more respect; this EP symbolized a major
change in direction, scope and focus for Ae. Every track
has something going for it.

Peel Session 1 - 8

Another solid piece of output. This isn't as important as
the previous two efforts, but it's much more playful and
freeway and stands as more excellent work.

Envane - 7

I think this is a bit overrated. While providing the
important bridge of from 'Tri Repetae' to 'Chiastic Slide',
the record actually sounds boxed in. It's said that this
was created with a musical set of parameters allowed to run
in four different directions, this indicates they weren't
sure about where to go next and trapping themselves in the
recycling of ideas ('Chiastic Slide' would have this problem
as well). Still a solid, aggresive effort.

Cichlisuite - 8

Much better formed and scoped than 'Envane', this is a
superb effort of bridging 'Chiastic Slide's' crunchy, rusted
beats with 'LP5's' rigid, clinical structure. A short, but
sweet ( ;) ) track called 'Krib' is a keeper.

Bad 1st half, great 2nd half (especially 'Dropp', 'Malphive
6.1' and 'Netlon Sentinel'). This record would've been an
easy 8 or even 9, if some judicious editing and better
sequencing was here.

Peel Session 2 - 6

'Gelk' and 'Gaekwad' are good pointers to Confield-type
sound, 'Bilfil' is overbearing, but OK. '19 Headaches' is
pointless.

Gantz Graf - 7

'Cap IV' is worth the release alone. 'Gantz Graf' is
ambitious and devilish in its boundary-pushing way. 'Dial'
is not warped enough between the two and acts more as
filler. Good, but there could've been more.
