afx piano tabs

james from england on 2001-10-23 21:46 [#00044807]

just wondering if anyone plays the piano and is good enough
to be able to tab any of the piano songs off druqks?
(especially avril 14th). you could write them out on sheet
music then scan it in.

Henry from Sweden on 2001-10-23 21:52 [#00044811]

I am able to do it
Just wait until i get the cd so i can listen to the piece
:)

When you say tabs, i guess you mean normal piano notation

pyroglif on 2001-10-23 22:17 [#00044822]

im sure richard said those piano trax are impossible to play
on a piano, he used a computer for em.

REPHLEX~ology from UK on 2001-10-23 22:18 [#00044823]

It'll be interesting if someone does get a notation on them.
Sure they'll be impossible, but we may as well give it a go.
I've been playing piano for like 7 years, so i'll give it a
go.

james from england on 2001-10-23 22:22 [#00044825]

cool, henry, that would be great. i think he built a
computer which could play like a piano. it doesn't sound
exactly like a piano which isnt a bad thing. they sound
possible to play, not too hard. i wonder if he can actually
play the piano.....

pyroglif on 2001-10-23 22:30 [#00044829]

it might have been just a few of the trax cos nanou2 sounds
possible, give it a go reflexology =)

Henry from Sweden on 2001-10-24 11:36 [#00045007]

Well the songs are quite hard to play on the piano, alone...
but i will notate it for four hands... it sounds exactly
like four hand compositions

balthus from europe on 2001-10-24 11:52 [#00045013]

yes, thought the same while listening to it. it's piano four
hands like satie's trois morceaux en forme de poire,
poulenc's concerto for two pianos, stravinsky's le sacre and
the concerto for two pianos.

i can play the easy, repetitive part of kesson dalef. in
fact i played it on the piano before i ever heard kesson
dalef, because it's a typical philip glass part. but the
other part is more difficult. but i don't think i able to
notate it properly, though. so i'm really happy that there's
someone who makes a score, thanks! great idea.

eeeee on 2001-10-24 11:52 [#00045014]

put it in to a midi file dude

thx!

or if you cant do that please do the notation and i will
put it into a midi file for you

thx!

Henry from Sweden on 2001-10-24 11:55 [#00045017]

Ive got a notation program so thats not a problem!

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-10-24 11:59 [#00045020]

what does the notation prog. do and what is it called?

balthus from europe on 2001-10-24 11:59 [#00045022]

yes, fantastic. would be really nice, henry. and it would be
great - phobiazero - if you would post it then, or even make
a new score section. would be nice, too. :-)

Henry Rodrick from Sweden on 2001-10-24 13:41 [#00045034]

Well i use Cubase Score for notation. Its great. Now i only
have to wait until ive got the album so i can listen to the
trax :)
A score section looks great to me.
By the way i think i will start with nannou2, its not so
compelx as avril 14.

james from england on 2001-10-24 22:54 [#00045149]

excellent. i really didn't think anyone would play the
piano, let alone well enough to try to transcribe the songs.
aphex has mentioned erik satie. anyone know what his music
is like- if its short piano pieces like aphex's it might be
worth getting. normally i find any classical music way too
overblown with strings everywhere and too long...

Archrival from NY on 2001-10-25 07:58 [#00045259]

dosle on 2001-10-25 08:04 [#00045260]

Anus Invader on 2001-10-25 08:18 [#00045261]

that's just stupid.

)(ePhA88 from my fuckin' piano on 2001-10-25 08:44 [#00045265]

man, why are you all freaked out over figuring out avril
14th???

that song is just a bunch of simple chording and
counterpoint!!! now don't get me wrong at all, I love the
song a lot, and I could just as easily say some of bach's
muziq is simple chording and counterpoint....

but i'm just trying to say that avril 14th is not that hard
to figure out. also... what makes y'all so convinced he
used his computer for avril 14th, eh? you know he used to
fuck with his piano when he was a kid... so did I... you
can do some wierd shit (and fuck up some pianos too)...

I'll try to dictate the song when i get a chance, I'll post
it if no one has gotten it yet....

man.... why else do you guys think I choose the number
88?!?!?! (number of keys on the piano, in case you didn't
know)

okay all... nighty night!

(r3fl3x.... email foo!)

Big Kev from a cupboard full of cleaning products on 2001-10-25 08:51 [#00045267]

I think you might have to email him, he's banned here for
the child porn stuff, and why would you even ask someone to
email you? Just email them, it's that simple.

Stuffin-such on 2001-10-25 08:51 [#00045268]

Wow. He just pulled a bunch of stuff out of his ass for
Drukqs and everyone is waxing intelectual about it. I am
sorry, after an album that gets really boring after the
third listen... I have lost a lot of respect for the guy.

Ophecks on 2001-10-25 12:34 [#00045324]

I thought you picked 88 because Eric Lindros is number 88.
Does he play piano?

Henry from Sweden on 2001-10-25 16:20 [#00045404]

Eric Satie makes very good music, and i think he have made
some sonatas, short pieces...

And Avril 14 is not so andvanced to figure out, i know, have
listened to it a bit now!
Quite simple, but very good!

Maytag from Durham,Nh USA on 2001-10-25 16:27 [#00045407]

The piano parts would be hard to emulate because you don't
know what particular tunings are or what muting objects on
the strings that he is using. Also only one or two of the
"piano" tracks are actually acoustic piano. Some are
organs, claviers or possibly electric harpsicords.

Henry from Sweden on 2001-10-25 21:16 [#00045513]

well nannou2, avril14 and Kesson Daslef are just acoustic
piano, Jynweythek Ylow and songs like that are piano,
duclimer chinese percussion etc.

Ophecks on 2001-10-25 22:49 [#00045572]

That Kleson Dasslef song is the shit, it really is.

james from in my head on 2001-10-26 22:25 [#00045881]

has anyone attempted to figure any of the piano songs yet?
im not good enough to do stuff like that. it would be good
just to play some aphex on the piano - ive got fuck all else
to play. so hurry up!

Oliver on 2001-10-26 22:44 [#00045889]

midi files would be nice!!

Henry from Sweden on 2001-10-27 00:41 [#00045940]

Well i get money at tuesday = Drukqs = then...

xepha88 from someplace special on 2001-10-27 13:08 [#00046040]

strotha tynhe,
avril 14th,
kesson dalef, and
nanou2.

I'd say those are all the acoustic piano songs. I'll figure
them out this weekend, and post 'em up for you guys to check
out.

-and sorry if I don't reply message board posts or
anything... i've got a lot going on, so I don't really check
the message boards too often. ~later

james on 2001-11-02 20:33 [#00048095]

have everyone who plays piano got the album now? do you
think you will try and transcribe any? if you cant be
bothered, it doesn't matter...........

balthus from europe on 2001-11-02 20:35 [#00048096]

Ophecks on 2001-11-03 15:14 [#00048275]

A job well done.

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2001-11-03 16:35 [#00048283]

you should do that up in notation, that would be nice.

james on 2001-11-03 20:30 [#00048311]

thats fucking good, in a messed up way. sorry, im not up
with midi stuff - did you play that on your keyboard and
recorded it on the computer, or use a computer program to
put the notes in? anyhow youve got to do a notation of it.
now. either scan in the sheet music or use a program to
write it. i want to play that now!

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-04 02:26 [#00048351]

people who say Avril 14th takes four hands to play make me
laugh.

Henry from Sweden on 2001-11-04 22:35 [#00048480]

Its not nessecary 4 hands, but the melody is played in
octaves at the end... how do, and that is not so easy when
you play the chords at the same time!
