Poll Time!

What is your favorite tune ever from a video game? You can
only pick ONE song, no more than that.

After giving much thought to this...I can honestly say thus
far this is my all-time favorite....

Legend of Dragoon - Tiberoa

So, let's hear them!

This has been done before I think. Best video game music no
contest really, Ghosts and Goblins by Tim Folin, very highly
regarded. Check Ghosts and Goblins it won several awards for
its music back in the 80s.

Probably the first part in Mega Turrican on Sega Genesis.
The parts right before you go into the sewer-like level (the
one where it's really green).

ooohh..
that's a close one,
between FFVII Jenova Synthesis Battle, FFIII Ending Theme,
and Legend of Dragoon Tiberoa (holy shit! that song connects
on a whole other level!! the music of this game is
superb!).

I really dig a lot of the Silent Hill 2+3 ambient tracks.

there are so many tunes i love... ok let's say
Sonic 3 - Hydrocity Zone.

(also a very good puzzle game with great music - Tetrisphere
on n64...)

I was fucking around with the C64 music from 'foxx fights
back' and came up with this. Nothing to write home
about but fun. I love the sounds these computers can make.

Hydrocity, hell yeah! I also love the snow level, that
''flying battery'', the tropical them in the first couple of
levels... all the Sonic games have awesome tracks. The
Aquatic Ruins and plane level from Sonic 2 are totally stuck
in my head 24/7 for over a decade. Even the GBA Sonics have
great tunes and beats.

I listen to SNES/Genesis/NES soundtracks everyday... what a
fucking geek. My favorite alltime is Chrono Trigger, any
Castlevania, Metroid 3, Illusion of Gaia... and the music
from Yoshi's Island is just fantastic. Instantly puts me in
a good mood. Mario RPG and Kirby Superstar... oh man. Just
awesome.

UN Squadron also sounds badass, but it's Capcom so what do
you expect... every Capcom game from that era had those
one-of-a-kind heavy metal-ish synths.

Chrono Cross has some of the best music I've ever heard
PERIOD, right up there with The Beatles, in my mind.
Unbelievable production, puts Final Fantasy to shame.

Glad to see your thoughts on 'Tiberoa.' For only being 1:17
that song has so much going for it. It was hard for me to
decide, but I can honestly say that's the greatest piece of
videogame composition to date IMO.
