on the dom joly show, he has a spoof thing where a subject is shown 'in a nutshell' with the person in a nut-shell given a minute to explain the subject. eg chess, german

Did anyone notice that when you put your mouse-arrow-thingy (whatever it's called) on Noam Chomsky's face, he grows horns and a long tongue.
What's with that?

No. He supports free speech. He wrote an article that got put into his book as an introduction. But he doesn't think very highly of anyone who tries to deny the holocaust.
A documentary about him called Manufacturing Consent gets into that in a lot more detail.

are you reading Hegemony or Survival : America's Quest for Global Dominance? Is it a good place to start? He seems to really know what he's talking about from what i've read on the net.

"In Hegemony or Survival, Noam Chomsky explains how we came to this moment, what kind of peril we find ourselves in, and why our rulers are willing to jeopardise the future of our species. With the striking logic that is his trademark, Chomsky dissects America's quest for global supremacy, tracking the US government's aggressive pursuit of policies intended to achieve 'full spectrum dominance' at any cost."

Chomsky's Weblog
>you read much chomsky? yes. its good, because he's very careful to only say things that he can back up with evidence. though its not exactly easy reading sometimes.
Manufacturing Consent is my favorite book of his, the first chapter explains chomsky's way of looking at the media very well
Power and Terror is a smaller book that deals with more recent events (i.e. the war on terror)
Hegemony or Survival is his most recent book I think, haven't read it yet.
His Linguistics stuff also rocks He did a talk here in London a week or two ago, I'm really gutted that I missed it.
