The new Mercedes advert just shown during the Monaco Grand
Prix uses a chopped up Window Licker with a gymnast on those
pole thingies. :D

At least I think it is new. I haven't saw it before. :P

Yeah I saw that in the cinema, original mix, but keeps
cutting between bits :)

It is pretty crap actually :D

They should have left it the way it was originally made and
had a 4 minute advert with new visuals.

i'm surprised firstly, that aphex let them use his tune,
secondly, i'm very surprised and somewhat shocked he let
them fuck about with the track...

You can't be surprised he let them use his tune, he is
famous for whoring his creations worldwide...the only
business type he refuses to license to is private healthcare
in the UK.

Saw this advert again at the weekend and I think it's edited
quite poorly... it may be just that I'm so familair with the
original, but the cutting between bits sounds pretty rough.

well if 90% of the people downloads your tracks of the
internet then you have to make money in another way.

Ok i haven't seen the advert yet but i will make one
comment.

I don't think it's selling out to let other people use songs
in adverts, you can make alot of money doing it so why not?

Would you not do it now if you had the oppptunity?

I don't think making a lot of money is any kind of evidence
against 'selling out.' In fact, that would probably be
slightly against your argument, since creativity should not
be a commodity to be traded amongst the repressive
high-financiers of the world.
