everyone is having problems with their computer those
days... coincidence, or the computer divinities are angry
about something...

How did you manage that? Surely when you connect the cable
modem to the computer it just works!!?? It did for me. Mine
did come with software from the ISP but I didn't need it.
I'm using XP btw.

i hate it when you lose everything. and you always say.. oh
ill have to start to make backups but you never do.... buy 2
hard disks and do a backup once a month, thats what i do. so
now my computer will produce some emp probably and destroy
all the data on both anyway.

Your avatar is quite appropriate for the situation, C.

i know it's hypocritical, and i shouldn't say it on a comp,
but I HATE COMPUTERS. back in high school me and a mate had
a saying which is very applicable to this situation...

"console yourself with a console" at least they fuck up less
often.

hehe true...
I should be doing backups myself,
but I know if I had a hardwarecrash I would probably want to
do new stuff when I had fixed the problem.

I installed another OS on my puter and now I have everything
in order... a hardware failure is the only thing that can
stop me, and let's hope that never happens =)

do new stuff = the only thing I'd backup would be my own
work, e.g. music...
All the stuff I do for school such as essays and stuff is
archived at the university and all mp3s I have - I own just
about all original CDs of thoose... so there won't be much
trouble there.
hm... I do actually stack things in a folder... and when I
get around the size of atleast 500 MB I make a CD of it...
