Today is part of a three day weekend in America, Memorial
Day.

A day for those who have made the greatest sacrifices so
that we may be free.

This sums it up pretty nicely

Free?

You've heard of DARPA, right? And you've read the fine print
regarding the Total Information Awarness project and the
Homelands Security Bill and the Patriot Act and...

You are free to do as they tell you!

you fail to realize, the concept of freedom is all

Respect for everyone who has died so I could live a good
life today... whether it went over as well as they hoped,
they still gave there lives to make this a better country,
and I'll probably never know what that's like.

I'm not "slagging off" veterens of conflicts past, I'm
questioning yours and others notions of freedom.

Are we free? Do you really think wars have ever been fought
for freedom?

Given all the shit going down with DARPA, TIA, HSB, Patriot
act, etc., etc
What makes us freer than, say, those behind the former Iron
Curtain?

Sure, we have more choice of consumer items on the shelves
of your local store... but does that constitute freedom?

We (UK/USA) are, comparatively speaking, realtively free.
People dies so that we could be. We would be less free had
they not died for us...

"Are we free? Do you really think wars have ever been
fought
for freedom?"

Shut the fuck up, right there.

Please, let's not turn this into a slagging match... if
people want to commemorate memorial/rememberance day, let
them. They're "free" to, remember?
