... so i never saw a topic on them here (not that i can
remember)

should i order
1) Carboot Soul
2) A word of science

other recommandations? and please say something about em if
you want or else this'll turn into another stupid 'should i

I prefer Carboot Soul out of those two. It's pretty good
"smoking music". Not that I smoke, but it's ideal background
music when mates are over and you're playing
videogames/drinking/talking.

It's mainly the more recent stuff that has a jazzier edge to
it. I still haven't picked up a copy of Mind Elevation yet.

And their new album is out as of last monday- lots of
soul/dub/reggae from what I've heard. I'll get a copy just
to have a recording of Dusty Springfield - Spooky on 12".

Sorry, new mix album. It's not a "back to mine", but
something like it... only one trakc on it by them and that's
a cover.

I've not listened to mind elevation much, but IMO, they do
get better with the later releases. Smokers delight is okay,
but the stuff prior to that is a little weak/dated now.

I really love Carboot Soul.

A word of science has some really good bleepy stuff, so if
you like that, it makes good sense to go for that...

Smokers Delight is a great album too...Mind Elevation seems
a bit too tame for me.

Carboot Soul is fantastic - it has a nice chilled vibe and
lots of taste and intelligence. Take the track Argha Noah -
yoiu can feel your blood pressure dropping and your tension
dissipating as you listen to it, and it has lots of subtle
tonal variations in the basic sounds, almost like ambient
music.
