"will you still need me? will you still feed me, when i'm
64?" - the beatles

as we all know, the older you get, the more complacent you
become. does anybody reckon they'll still be (realistically
speaking) grooving to 'confield' with a cane in one hand and
a cathoder in the other?!? or will it be all thievery
corporation, kruder & dorfmeister, stereolab, etc. because
they're "easy on the ol' jaded ears"?

Maybe not confield, but I definetly think I'll enjoy new
sounds that are similar to my old sounds...when I was old
enough to remember lyrics I was singing beatles song....so
hopefully my kids can enjoy the same music I did.

When I baby-sat the kids were singing these new songs that
would talk about sex and drugs, and they would sing along
without actually knowing what they mean, it was
disturbing.....

So I'll keep to what I like =) until my dying day

"sex style - niggaz want it free, they dawgs drink my piss!"
- kool keith

yeah, hearing that being sung by a 4 year old would be
pretty disturbing indeed! mind you, kool keith owns! i
wonder if i'll be listening to Dr. Octagon when i'm 64

The only thing I can be assured of is that I'll be listening
to The Beatles. I think Aphex and whoever will be a looooong
distant memory.

I'm going to hate myself.

will be...
Eventually Ill be sitting in a diaper listening to my cd of
wind.

hmm. i reckon that ambient will be the adult
contemporary/easy listening of the glitch generation. it
seems peculiar that the older one gets, the more mellow one
becomes in one's tastes (particularly music-wise).

does this have to do with an increasing lack of physical
(and perhaps even mental) vigour of the sort which defines
being young but is almost antithetical to being elderly?!?

how do you explain this tendency towards a mellowing of
one's tastes?

we will still love the ones we love now,
but im not sure if we gonna be happy with the new stuff
coming up.

but everything is at a change i ve seen many 40ers who love
it loud and new,
so i think some of us will still be going for it!!!

one thing is for sure: when im at that age and retired im
gonna grow dope to pay the rent and smoke some too...
