crap tunes by fav artists

name me one universally worshipped artist who doesn't have
a stinker amidst his/her musical output and i'll call your
bluff!

that said, are there any tracks by your favourite artist(s)
- not necessarily electronic - which are just sonically
jarring in their sheer awfulness?!?

here's my pick: vic acid by squarepusher (and for that
matter, the entire album under the Chaos A.D. alias - god, i
hate that acid-y sound! awful!)

Vic Acid is great, one of my top 5 SP tracks! Different
strokes for different folks.

The Beatles- the worst Lennon/McCartney tune is ''Wild
Honey'' Pie... total crap, but thankfully it's like 40
seconds long.

I used to think ''What Goes On'' was weird drunken country
bar shit and the weak link of possibly the greatest album
ever made, but suddenly it's my fave on the album. Go
figure.

chaos AD and Viv Acid are gems, man. You´re credabiliity as
a discreditor is seriously in question, good sir. To think
some artist is gonna produce/release a song that isn´t crap
is a tad on the pants side of thinking anyway. Tschh!

what is crap or not cos we all think different even though
we like similar music

I love all surfing on sine waves tracks

squarepusher 90% of his music released in 1999
orbital most of the altogether
tool some of undertow (to me it's crap, but if i had
been a fan when it came out i'd probably love it)

Squarepusher has the largest 'Shit to Good' ratio of all the
electronic bands I listen to. His good ones are amazing, but
his bad ones are really really bad. Shape up I say!

those who claim autechre doesn't have a single crap tune
obviously haven't heard the 'cavity job' single (the b-side
is equally as sonically horrendous, mind) - you have to be
an 'oi, oi, ya nutters!' hardcore throwback to actually
enjoy that one.

thankfully, that's their only slipup (and considering it was
a low-key 1st release, all sins forgiven!), and it has to be
said ae has some superb quality control. even the tracks
which aren't superb are still good, methinks! the only one
since 'cavity job' which just doesn't cut if for me is '19
headaches' from the 2nd peel sessions CD, the name of which
was quite aptly bestowed upon it by john peel himself.

i love 'treefingers' (maybe not as an individual tune, but
it does fit in quite nicely on Kid A), though 'hunting
bears' from Amnesiac is one shite track, i tell ya! and
worse of all, there were a good few b-sides from that album
which would've made it so much better if, say, they came to
replace the new version of 'morning bell' (which really
wasn't necessary). generally speaking, Amnesiac is
definitely the weakest thing they've done since Pablo Honey,
though there are some really stellar tunes on both albums -
it's just that they don't hold up as a whole quite like
their other work.

I consider myself to be quite a big radiohead fan, and I
have to agree with you.
There are some real good tunes on amnesiac, but as an album,
it isn't good. There's too much not good songs on there as
you mentioned. It's a pitty actually as I tend to listen to
albums as a whole and therefor hardly listen to pyramid song
and knives out, which I believe to be among the best
they've ever recorded.

My vote for a crap song goes to 'My Teapot'. That track is
awful in my opinion.

well, Aphex Twin has a lot of crap tunes... too many to
list... not really, but a nice few... :)

Radiohead, well their Pablo Honey album has some mediocre
stuff on it, but it's still a nice album overall... nothing
fantastic...
