our police arested a US marine about 10 days ago. this us carrier came directly from persian gulf to restock (i think) in our harbour...when they left (some 4 days later) they reported that this guy didnt return to the ship and ask our police to help find him...finally they found him hiding in some girl's appartment because apperantly they fell in love any the guy didnt wont to leave here - this was all happening before the war officialy ended so the guy would be treated like he deserted by the US army (i think there's a death penalty for such offense)...
anyway this guy wasnt under any offense in our country (except for being without his passport or any other documents) so they let hih go...i havent heard what happened to him now...perhaps he and his girl are living happily together hehe

Yeah, I'm sure it was the aid workers who spraypainted a Marines logo on an ancient city, then tried to blame it on those highly educated and cultured Marines who would never do such a thing.

"The most prominent monument is the best preserved ziggurat - stepped pyramid - in the Arab world, initially built by the Sumerians around 4000 BC and restored by Nebuchadnezzar II in the sixth century BC.
The Pentagon has elected to build its massive and potentially permanent base right alongside the site, so that the view from the peak of the ziggurat - more or less unchanged for 6,000 years - will be radically altered."
You think that's a false claim by aid workers?

D'ya here about that "rescue" of that female soldier? It was all bollocks.
The army came to the hospital 2 days before they staged the rescue and asked if there were any Iraqi soldiers around. The doctors told them no. 2 days later they came swoopin in with helicopters and cameras rolling and took her away.
The US claimed she had knife and gun shot wounds when the doctors swore blind she only had broken limbs (from a RTA). In fact, the doctors gave her the only specialist bed in the hospital and some of the docto

It was very interesting -- quite a few journalists saying that they were basically told what to say by the military - and how the embedded journalists had to "be nice" to the troops they were with since they were the ones feeding and housing them during the war. Also, it talked about the rescue of private Lynch, as Peloton talked about earlier.

Is there much difference between the restrictions placed by the Pentagon and those placed by the Iraqi andministration?

yeah, i agree with corrupted girl (you still haven't explained why the old lady in your avatar!), the chimp site is pretty insulting - to primates, that is! i mean, honestly, if i were a monkey, i would be majorly insulted if someone compared me to george dubya! that man (or thing, rather) doesn't belong in the human race, let alone among primates, who, unlike us, don't slaughter one another en masse nor have they weapons of mass destruction.
