i downloaded a whole bunch of snares... i like it, but at
the same time i find it unlistenable... i love the first 2
or 3 minutes of Dollmaker and i also like "Dad" from
witboas... does he have anything a bit lighter than the
bullshit hardcore... i can tell he's got talent and i like
his music, but i fucking hate most of the beats ive heard...
anyone can recommend some lighter tracks? im tired of
downloading stuff that hurts my head!

I'm not a great lover of Snares stuff. Gets a bit samey, all
that drill n' bass shananigans.

yup witboas is my favorite too, maybe because it seems more
conceptual than his others?

cried when it got all hardcore :(

i like three tracks by him, the rest seems as abusive as his
child molestation and mastication tracks. you know he made
it onto conan obrian and playboy for his last album?... his
name wasn't mentioned but 'an electronic muscian from
winnepeg making an album entirely from sex sounds' did..
i'd rather listen to cascone when it comes to being
conceptual...Love- Rob

yeye.. But hey give it a try with your MD or Mp3 player..
Music gets bether when youre out riding a buss or walking
somewhere ya know.

I started to listen to vsnares about 3months ago.
Ive heard people here at xltronic talk about him.. So i
though that id give him a try. I downloaded winter and put
in my md.. then the same day my grandma died so I walked
around in my cold sweden listened to winter and was very
sad.. like everytime i listen to Sink snow angel it makes me
think about my grandma.

but im getting offtrack now. sry hehe

and hey, if you like skinny puppy, fraujager from winter in
the belly, i swear to god, takes a line directly out of one
of their songs (cant put my finger on which one however.).

the strings in the end of Fraujäger is beutiful.. and the
beat is cool.
What does Fraujäger means by the way?

it sounds like german.. Im swed and I get it to something
like "Wife Hunter" but thats properly totally wrong. lol

The thing about snares is he usually throws 1 or 2 easy
listening tracks on an album, and the rest is hardcore.
Download all his albums, then just keep the tracks you like.

yes, i'd say go for Find Candace. In the beginning its
pretty 'harsh'....i found it great... puts you in a wide
eyed mood....
But after a while you can just listen to it and appreciate
the beats, songs .....

offline DJ Buzz from Odessa (Ukraine) on 2003-05-18 04:37 [#00703594]

I'd agree that witboas is the most 'digestible'... and the
softest. Find Candace is also very conceptual and classy -
I'd recommend to dig once more into these 2 records... If
they just don't rock your socks - just leave VS alone, cuz
other stuff is far more hAAAArdcore, imho.

i heard "i rent the ocean" yesterday...first snares track i
had time to check out...it was fairly ok...maybe i should
have checked out more, but I feel you have to have a very
stable mind or a very serious condition to listen to those
mind-twiddling beats

a lot of ppl seem to like that track but I don't think it

i still consider myself "new" to venetian snares (i only own
4 releases), but from the ones i've heard, i think "a giant
alien force..." seemly a little more controlled and less
rythmicly crazy. parts of it remind be of early bogdan
raczynski, if you have heard that.

i like most v snares music but not all of it ,
making orange things is shit (imo)
he could do with mastering his tracks a bit more,
some of those noises hurt !
songs about my cats is very good but wish he was abit more
carefull with his levels .
you know what i mean?

Songs about my cats is a fucking masterpiece.

His production is shit, but I can tell its getting a bit
better with every release. Just compare WITBOAS/Find Candace
to his older stuff, you can definately hear it.
