He is BADASS, great discovery. May I ask how you came across
his stuff?

I saw his name a lot on the board, and then (one of my only)
friends said that everything of the ninja tunes label is
great
. So i checked out Amon Tobin and actually found
more resemblance to idm there than i thought i would find.

i think all his albums are great, but none are better than
"go plastic" (junktion -"he rocks more than squarepusher).
Though its kind of unfair to compare the two artists, as
both of them are completely different in terms of style,
though there are obvious surface comparisons.

Do you mean the first one as in the Cujo one?

dude....i haven't heard Go Plastic yet...I have heard a lot
of music is rotted one note and feed me wierd things.

I ment variation-vise amon tobin is superior. Some of the
tracks i heard is pure jazz, shile other more drillish.

"everything of the ninja tunes label is
great. "

That's pretty true- whilst I can think of 2/3 artists on
Warp/Skam/Rephlex that I like more than Ninja Tunes, there
are also a lot of artists I don't care for and even a few I
think are quite poor on those labels. Ninja Tunes on the
other hand has incredibly high standards and it's one of the
few labels I'd buy somthing from on the strength it was on
that label. If you like Amon Tobin, may I suggest you get
"Xen cuts" a ninja tunes sampler. Pretty cheap and it's
3cds. A good showcase of lots of different artists and a
good starting point to see which other ones you like. If you
like Jazzier stuff, check out "Funk jazztastical
Tricknology" on the same label.

Is this "Funk jazztastical
Tricknology" an artist or a release?

It's a various artists compilation on ninja tunes of their
jazzier tracks, stuff by coldcut, kruder & dorfmeister, DJ
Food, DJ Vadim, etc.
