Have you ever fasted?
How was it? Good? Bad?
What kind of fast, and for how long?

Yes i have and do from time to time.

I think overall it was good. Although i can't say i have
done it enough to draw a dynamic conclusion or anything like
that, but i felt more clear and focused. I was in better
spirits.

It was for around 3 days of not eating anything at all and
only drinking water. I started it mainly due to depression
(which seems to really be making it's rounds as of late) but
after the three days i was back on my feet again.

It was an interesting experience and i am probably going to
experiment with it more in the future and study or make note
of it's mental/spiritual benefits.

How about yourself?

Yeah I'm going to be doing a waterfast for a couple of
days... Right now I've been doing juice for three days to
tune my body for the waterfast.
I've done juicefasting before, but waterfasting is new to
me.
Right now I feel very healthy, I always do that when I'm on
a fast... feels VERY good. I feel very clean...
You need to expereience it do know what I'm talking about,
but I'm sure you have done that.

I've fasted. But it was for the wrong reasons, but I still
enjoyed it. After day 4 I feel very very good and not even
hungry anymore.. then you can go for longer after that day..
well for me. Water fasts are good but if you don't wanna
pass out organic juice fasts are better...I've tried both.
It's a great feeling, really.

shit, i should seriously try this, since i live alone...
i've tried to do a respectable fast ie; water and bread but
family would have nothing about it.... anyways...YOU HAVE to
read the hunger artist by franz kafka... it's a short
story that will fuck you up... i'll lend it to anyone, drop
by and pick up...

Yes i do. I believe that is where the focus and clairity
came from. I also was going for walks and getting out in the
fresh air. It was a real pleasant experience.

Although i must make a suggestion if i may.... take daily
vitamins while fasting. As a 100% water intake will deplete
you body of important vitamins and nutriants.
Which usually isn't a problem in juice fasting depending on
the kind/brand of juice you have.

The only juice good enough is freshly squeezed, but most
importantly UNPASTEUHRIZED (not sure I spelled it right
though)...
It's the only way to do a juicefast.

I buy fruit-juices, but make my own vegetables/greens-juice.

I wholeheartedly agree with you there. Nothing beats fresh
squeezed or home grown fruits and vegtables. I think it's
the only way to fly..... although sometimes i buy store
bought goods as i am not really much of a green thumb. :/

Have you got a juicer? They're amazing!! I have a juice
every morning, apple/carrot/cabbage/orrange and a bit of
lemon... totally wakes you up!

I'm on a fast again (starting today with juices - tomorrow
I'll start with water)...

After I came home from partying (very much and very hard) in
Cypruss (also getting very little sleep) I was in a very bad
shape. So now I'm going to let my body rest for a while...

The trip to cypruss was not as good as expected but it was
worth making...
I didn't feel very good (healthy) when I got home though...

i don't understand -- is it just a liquid diet? if i put my
cereal in a blender and drank it, am i still fasting?

hehe... I think cereal are too dry to become liquid.
But yeah, fasting is staying away from food. You let your
body get some rest... You feel totally awesome after a
fast.
you feel light and healthy, full of energy.

well i had envisioned the cereal with milk in it.

but fruits and veggies aren't food?

Fruits and veggies are originally (solid) food.
You need a blender to mix them (or you can buy freshly
squeezed unpasteurized juice if they're available where you
live).

so it's only food if it is in solid form.

maybe i will go on a milkshake fast!

hehe...
well I think so. I don't know the correct definition but I
think of it as food and drink.
I don't think it's possible to go on a milkshake fast. I
mean maybe for a day, but in the end you will not get enough
vitamins/minerals.
That's why juicefasting is great.
Waterfasting is something like 3 times stronger though.

ok Key is back on a fast again...
the previous fasts (mentioned in this topic) was short
ones...

This one will also be a short one, lasting (atleast) three
days (water only)... Maybe a week if I can.
But usually after three days water gets very boring... Plus
I drink tapwater =(

After three days (previous experiences) tapwater really
tastes... tapwaterous.

feel free to add comments to this topic.

well it's ok here I guess.. drinkable. But I'd prefer clean
H2O with nothing but H2O in it.

fasting is good for you if your already pretty healthy, i
plan on doing a juice-fast or just fruits\vegetables in the
near future. it really cleans out the system if you do it,
its even better for you the more often you do it but trying
an absurd length to fast could you know, not be good.

yeah I know.
My friend did a 100 days fast once (including some
water-only periods up to two weeks)...
It's a tough business...
