How many electronic musicians that you know of have had a
job in a regular 'non-electronic' band prior to their
present roles ?

I know of a few. Brian Eno was a part of Roxy Music
Factory.

Geir Jensen (Biosphere) was a part of Bel Canto (who I dig
by the way) during their first two albums.

Underworld were Freur.

Bjork (to whatever extent you consider her a electronic
artist) was a member of Sugarcubes.

Who else do you know of ?

Peter Christopherson of Coil was a member of Throbbing
Gristle.

And in Trevor Horn's case, it was the reverse. From 'The Art
Of Noise' to being a solo pop-music producer.

fat boy slim was in the jangle pop band the housemartins.
rolo mcginty (pluto) was the singer for the woodentops.
kurt ralske (can't remember his electronic name) was
ultravividscene. brad laner, who is the electric company,
was in medicine. i think mike paradinas played bass in some
sort of funk-rock band before µ-ziq, though he will
probably deny it. warren defever, the mastermind of his
name is alive, records electronic music under the name
control panel.
