I think Autechre wins when it comes to technicality in
their music, they are geniuses of the beat, and craft
everything almost perfectly fit together.

Aphex, on the other hand, wins when it comes to emotion in
his music, and the melodies he come up with that send chills
up your spine.

So, which do you think is more important in music?

The technicality, or the emotion??

(Not saying that Ae can't make good melodies, they're great,
but I think RDJ wins in that department...)

Aphex always wins...we have had this a lot of times...

I vote Afx

Are you still listening to that old stuff? I'm onto DJ
Blender Twatcore going mental in Indonesia now.

AFX is nice and so is AE and that is good and nice and nice
and good. I'm glad both are around really.

I don't you should really compare the two. They radically
different takes on what they do and they want to achieve.
I think they both have released some of the best music ever
so....

ok... even though this is not a very original thread... it
is now here, in front of me, and I will say my opinion:

ok you are asking me which one do I prefer between ae and
aphex right?

well, in that case...
I said before that I own more releases by aphex than ae...
but I think that doesnt really have to mean who do I
prefer...
I also talked about a point about autechre... they really
keep releasing new stuff... while mister richard hasnt still
made a single new track since he made drukqs... which on the
other hand is suspicious of being made with some old tracks
...

actually I love both, but it really is like day and night

If I had to go to an island and all my albums of just one of
them... I think I would bring aphex with me

eh? i find ae emotional at times but not very varied
technically.....afx has great tunes and loads of
'instruments' but no real emotion for me....

until a few weeks ago i would have definately said afx but
at the moment i'd have to say ae, it just clicked all of a
sudden...used to not really get into autechre and then one
day BAM i understood it...did this happen to anyone else?

rich not making new stuff is no reason not to like what hes
done....and i would say they are more similar than night and
day....

rich not making new stuff is no reason not to like what hes

done..
________________________________
never said I didnt like what he´s done... all contrary, I
love what he´s done... but it is a reason to prefer
autechre which I also love, just because at least they have
done lots of stuff in the last times

I would like richard to release stuff like when in
1993,94,95,96
I mean more than a release per year... not like now that it
seems to be like a release per 2 or 3 years

so tu sum up:
him not releasing stuff, doesnt make me like less what he is
done, but makes me feel better about autechre, which seem to
care more about me...

but if you see, even though this reason, I finally chose
aphex

i disagree with you. if afx only made music for money, then
why would he still dj. that was a farfetched opinion.
