I love games. Some highlights I heard today -

1. A new pacman is coming to gamecube. One person controls
pacman through the GB Advance and three others control the
ghosts with gamecube controllers. Sounds like so much fun.

2. Sony is entering the handheld market next year.

PSP Specifications:
* Platform name: PSP(TM)
* Display: Wide screen (16:9) TFT LCD with backlight
(480 x 272 dots)
* Disc medium: "UMD" 60mm optical secured ROM disc with
cartridge (1.8GB)
* Video CODEC: MPEG4
* Graphics: 3D Polygon/NURBS
* Sound: PCM (built-in stereo speakers, stereo headphone
output)
* I/O: USB 2.0, Memory Stick(TM) slot
* Battery: Rechargeable (lithium-ion)

I love games too, but many new games are not fun, then
people who make games make equally unfun games to compete.
I'm particularly interested in making some myself some day.

Arg.. I hope Nintendo can pull their act together and get
back on top. It'd be a crying shame to see them reduced to
developer-only status i.e. Sega..
Like putting the king in the kitchen.
I truly believe 'Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker' is one of
the 10 best games of ALL time and I would, without regret,
spend $200 on a Gamecube if that were the only disc it was
capable of running. Believe me folks.
I heard a few slim details about the new Pacman game. Seems
Miyamoto himself is drawing up the plans with Namco..
Speaking of, the few screenshots I saw of the new Starfox
game look excellent. I expect no less from such a radiant
series.. It's too bad Rare won't be leaving their pawprints
across this one. Speaking of, has anyone seen or read
anything on their debut Xbox game 'Kameo'? The video
previews I watched were pretty unimpressive.. Lots of
visual flair but nothing that really grabbed me. What's it
about anyway? Is it an RPG? Speaking of, 'Fable' looks
PHENOMENAL. I hope E3 goers are treated to some lovely
trailers and juicy tidbits of previously unreleased footage.
Psychonauts also looks awesome - For those unfamilar with
the title, Psychonauts is Tim Schafer's(of Grim Fandango and
Day of the Tentacle fame) first shot at console gaming.
Look up some of the previews if you're interested; there
should be some new ones rolling out relatively soon.

Woohoo! Speaking of, it looks like Sam & Max are officially
hitting the road again:

I remember when those realtime screenshots were but a
distant dream in the head of a young boy.. Now that dream
has been made real. Gosh-golly, technology sure is a'leapin
and a'boundin!

I'm an old-schooler... there's some gems coming out
nowadays, but my heart will always be in the pre-Playstation
daze.

And I'm a Nintendo fanboy... they've NEVER disapointed me
with their games, even Mario Sunshine, and I'll go to war
for them. I would have gone to war for Sega, too. I would
have died.

Woohoo! Max Payne 2 :
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/maxpayne2/news_6027039.ht
ml
Now that the"bullet time" feature is commonplace, they had
better come up with a pretty stellar gimmick for the
sequel(I loved the first game, especially the dialogue - I
think most of the reviewers missed the fact that it was
>intended< to be exaggerated tongue-in-cheek).

Yeah, I've got Max Payne for PS2... other than the dual
analog controls, the game is delicious, and I'll NEVER
forget some of his lines as long as I live. That puts it in
a special category with Earthbound and... that's about it.
MAYBE Super Mario Bros, since ''the princess is in another
castle'' is the only line, and it's a doozie.

I like the new avatar by the way.
"The best ruler is but a shadowy presence to his subjects"
Excellent.
When did you originally play Earthbound anyway? Are you
SURE it will be as good for me as it was for you? Does it
stand the test of time?

I rented it for a week on a whim (there was nothing else
in), the pics on the box didn't impress me. After 20 minutes
though, I decided I had to own it, now, so I went out and
bought it and had TWO copies of it in my house for a week.
Imagine!

As soon as the ''name your character'' screen pops up and
you're prompted to name your favorite food (I inputed
''crap'', being the clever 12 year old I was at the time),
you know you're know you're playing something special.

PS- when they prompted me to name my favorite thing, I said
''sex''. So for the rest of the game, my mom would bake some
fresh ''crap'' to restore my health, and my special attack
was ''Sex''. I'm smiling just thinking about it.

They also reference the Beatles several times in it... I
mean, come on... that's some hip script writing. You'll love
it.

The game isn't just style and wit and fun though, there's
tons substance... you can only carry x amount of items,
strategy comes into play in that area, and the battles are
fun and the game can be difficult. The desert mine is so
fucking hard. I was in tears. Only the best games can make
me cry.

FUCK YES it holds up, better than any other game to me other
than Chrono Trigger. There's jokes and allusions in the game
that I might not have gotten when I was younger, but I get
them now.

I'll take your word for it.
Somehow... I know you won't let me down. The GBA port is
going to contain both the second one and the original -
which you never played, correct? I think the new one is
being made for Gamecube. Or maybe it's coming to the
Gameboy.. Arg, I can't remember. You can't expect me to be
looks AND brains all the time you know!

I have the NES original (''Mother'') and it's fantastic, but
I haven't gotten far into it or anything... just like its
big bro, it's sooooo far ahead of the NES pack,
intellectually. I'm buying a GBA just for that release.

And then I'll get my revenge on Li'l UFO.

I'm glad they're coming bundled. I'd wouldn't dare play a
sequel without first completing the original.. That shit's
some serious taboo.
My birthday is this friday and I should be bathing in $5
checks by then.. Maybe I'll cash them in and buy myself
some new toys. Speaking of, the dork shop is hiring and
they're really pushing for me to put in an application... I
think we could exist together in a symbiotic relationship.
Besides, it's a chain operated business which, assuming I do
well, could give me a few additional options when I make the
move to the big city.

Anyway, if I do take the job, you should come to E3 with me
next year. Think about it: World exclusives on everything
videogame related, truckloads of free souvenirs, demos,
plush dolls, etc., mammory endowed females promoting stupid
shit no one will ever play, fat guys with bullcuts speaking
Klingon, the one bed hotel room we'll share..! Two days of
hedonism and ecstacy beckon young Jayworth.
Anyway, you think it over big boy. Don't worry about your
social aversion either, I guarantee you 90% of the attending
audience has much less going for them than you.

I put a resume into ''Gameworld''... kind of an Eastern
Canadian Electronics Boutique, only lamer... but still, I
get to play Games for 7.9 hours a day, and spend the other
.1 waiting on pizza faced broken-voiced geeks. Everytime I
go in there, the 35 year old Star Wars geek that works there
is playing Halo, and I have to kick the desk to get his
attention. That could be ME, only instead of playing Halo, I
could be playing... Zelda! Very little customers there at
any given time, these fuckers just play games. Goodness, I'd
love it. Go for that job, give them that ''look'' and you're
got it in the bag.

I'll get you something good for your birthday, don't get
your panties in a bundle. An e-card or something, just for
you.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean you worthless

'll get you something good for your birthday, don't get your

Awww.. No e-card though, my browser won't be able to handle
it. The last 4 I've gotten have all crashed my computer.
Just make whatever it is heartfelt and I'm your's forever.

E-Cards are too much to handle? Geez... Oh well, I'll think
of something sugary sweet.

What I'd do in your situation is save the money you're using
on Gameboy Advance games and stuff and buy a computer that
isn't an ass-goblin... you'd still get to play the games on
emus... granted, the real thing is better, but life is full
of sacrifices.

But I'm not here to lecture you or tell you how to run your
life.

Why don't you post this e-card on the board for the whole
world to see? If you reeeally cared about me...

I'm working on the computer thing. Well, not really, but
I've been seriously thinking about working on it for the
past 3 years which is sort of like the little cousin to
actually working on it. I guess I'll just have to see how
things turn out.. I'll tell you one thing though: computer
definately comes before vehicle. So much more to offer..
So much less to lose. When's the last time you wacked
it(comfortably) under the dashboard of your car? Or hit
three keys to fix the results of a nasty crash? Needest I
go on?

The new Castlevania looks promising, but I only saw some
screens and a horribly shot video. Konami is really showing
a lot of cool games.

I'm waiting to hear about SNK VS. Capcom: Chaos, this game
could be insane.

Mario golf is looking great but it hasn't been said if the
RPG elements will be included.

No huge news I've heard today, but both Xbox and Playstation
cut their prices by 20 bucks or so. No they're 179.99.

Anyway, i'm just reading here that there is going to be a
Paper Mario 2 on the Gamecube! Hallelujah! This is
fantastic news :-)
Paper Mario was one of the best games i ever played on my
N64... i would kill to be able to experience another
adventure in that style.

I really hope they keep the paper and cardboard-style
graphics as well this time! With the Gamecube's powers it
could look even better! Oh my!

-Metroid 2 (GC)
-Mario 128 (GC)
-A whole lot of others including Resident Evil 4 (all going
to be fully rendered in realtime and looks just as good as

and Mario Kart... there are way too many to keep track of.

I've not heard anything new about Mario 128 though. Has

Nintendo also anounced a new game called "geist". It all
looks very unlike any other nintendo-title. A first person
shooter, dark realistic graphics, you play as a ghost who
can take over the bodies of other people.
I'm not sure what to expect... but it could be interesting i
guess.

For GBA there's a game coming out called "mario & luigi".
Yet another rpg (looks alot like zelda) starring Mario and
Luigi It appears you get to control them both at the same
time. It looks very nice, and i'm sure it will be great...
but why oh why isn't nintendo working on a proper new 2d
mario-adventure for the GBA?! Which is obviously what the
entire world is waiting for (isn't it?).

Well, the dutch site i read it on said that this has been
confirmed by Nintendo themselves :-)
Not just a remake of the original, but a completely new
adventure!

I cannot wait!

I also just finished watching a short movie of Kirby
Airride... i think i'm starting to look more forward to this
than to mariokart! Graphics are a little simplistic, but it
looks FUN!

Right now i'm still playing the WindWaker. Just completed
the 4th temple (in one sitting... very easy temple, but
extremely enjoyable nevertheless!). I demand that nintendo
release another zelda adventure with this gameplay and these
graphics!
