Any other people here that like bands like St.Etienne,
Pizzicato Five and Dubstar ? What about The Stone Roses,
Happy Mondays and Ispiral Carpets and the lot ? Any
favourite albums of either sort ?

I absolutely ADORE saint etienne! They are professors of
pop! I'd give them a Noble prize anyday! Love their last
album Finistere!

Happy Mondays - Love their first album, produced by x-velvet
undergrounder John Cale... After that they never really did
it for me

heh...have you heard 'The Stone Roses' debut self-titled
album ?...I get the feeling that you might really like it.

Love both Finistere and Sound Of Water...Tiger Bay and Good
Humor as well.

I really liked "This is how it Feels" by the inspirals when
I was a kid and still have a bit of a soft spot for them.
I'm a reasonably big fan of dubstar (just bought remixes of
"I will be your girlfriend" as it happens) and don't mind
the odd bit of St. Etienne as well.

St. Etienne are ace. Fox Base Aplha is my favourite.

Happy Mondays: Bummed and Pills n Thrills are fantastic.
Pills n thrills would have to be in my top 5 albums of all
time.

Would that mix CD be this ? I wonder 'cause it is
not something I've heard of. How is it ?

Yes, I've heard the Stone Roses debut, and it is brilliant.
"I wanna be adored" is one of my fave singles ever. It's a
shame they ended up as major label wanking material...

Nah, I've got a copy of that one and it's different. The one
I'm tlaking about is a dance remix 12". Doesn't look like a
DJ only promo, got about 6 remixes on it including a pretty
cool dub one.

I know you make music (which I really like, BTW, but we will
save the sappy fawning for another post)...but do you DJ as
well? Just out of curiosity.
