anybody got the first & second season on DVD yet? The
commentaries are the best! I think in one of them you can
hear them partaking in some illicit activites (like someone
inhaling smoke and passing something to someone ;)

"For every sprinkle I find, I will kill you" - Stewie

"For every sprinkle I find, I will kill you"

emm...

that's like saying "for every penny i find i will bomb the
National Bank"

so if there's just one "you", it really takes only one
sprinkle, right?

The simpsons actually promoted Family Guy, so its not like
they we're arch nemesis, they all hung out on the weekends
and smoked weed together :D

True.

True.

Some episodes of Family Guy were disgraceful, although some
were absolutely fantastic, so I can't really say..

yeah it did seem like an inferior simpsons spinoff at
first...but its a different kind of humour, its more
cartoony in many ways, doing things that slightly more
realistic shows like the simpsons couldnt do....but the main
problem with family guy for me is tho the jokes are funny,
the characters are not....the baby and the dog are ok, but
peter seems like another homer to me and the other
characters arent funny at all....

Haaaaaaahaha. I love family guy, not so much the first
series, but the first series of every comedy cartoon sucks.

family guy kicks simpsons ass. the simpsons are so old and
shit and exhausted by now, family guy's unique sense of
humour is the business. i've only got the 2nd series but
i'll be getting the third as soon as it comes out and the
first.. well.. whenever i get the money

nothing original about that show.

the jokes on family guy are more devastating than those of
the simpson's. The writers on the simpsons have become too
old and bored with the show, it doesn't even seem like their
trying anymore.

But in any case, I especially like the 80's pop references
in every episode...especially when peter gives a plagiarized
speech on one episode which ends up being the main title
song from the Facts of Life.

family guy is great, wether or not its better than the
simpsons is beside the point, it still kicks a whole lot of
arse stevie makes me laugh, real belly laughs, the most i
get from the simpsons is a reflective chuckle

Season 3 unfortunately is supposed to be a bit duff, they
thought it was gonna be cancelled so all the writers left,
and then they commissioned it after all so they had to get
new ones.

I'll probably buy it anyway, but.

I really dislike south park as well... I really prefer more
subtle humor, and south park is just too blunt for me...
from what I've seen anyways... I haven't had much desire to
watch alot of it...

Yeah southpark kinda takes things too far. I like Family Guy
because its delightfully and subtly offensive.

ehhehe.....i purchased the DVD's (for myself and my
BF....they are nicely packaged) i had most of the episodes
on CD (never caught the show on TV) that my BF d/l'd for me
via the net.

i thought they were pretty funny, and the lil boy stewie is
a RIOT, i love that evil MAD scientist voice!

i've yet to watch the DVD's, i opened the package, but i
need a few free hours to have a marathon of sorts.
