because radiohead don't tend to release them in the us. not
many european bands do... (huh? why?)

He was talking to me, note the "follow up" feature.

I saw this vid this afternoon, I still think this track is
crap (And it sounded no different to the demo version) -
second single whatever it is will be an improvement.

Zoinks, I just saw the video. I'm on the complete other end
of the spectrum, I absolutley love this track to pieces. But
hey, the world would be a boring place if we all liked the
same stuff, blah blah blah :)

I used to spend 2 hours a day travelling back and forth
between Derbyshire and Nottingham. Soul-destroying stuff,
though it did afford me an opportunity to read, something
I've been doing little of lately.

But anyway, those of you who don't like 'There There' need
beating with a large stick ;)

oh man, just let the album grow on you, i always found
myself disappointed after buying radioheads' new stuff, but
it's a matter of time and umm, medicine treatment you get...
lol

Soul destroying stuff indeed, getting in and out in rush
hour traffic is pure evil... made even worse by all this
tram installation melarchy.

Knives Out on Amnesiac is probably one of the best songs
I've heard in this genre... Extremenly powerful but I have
no clue of what he is talking about, as usual for me.

I know what you mean, I find the melody immensely powerful,
and yet, the lyrics leave me dumbfounded.. :/

If anyone is interested there is a "interpretations" section
over at www.greenplastic.com where you can see what some has
to say about Radioheads lyrics. They also have all the
lyrics collected easily accessible.
A nice site.

i downloaded the video last night and what can i say - it's
really different. lots of things going on, they're even
playing with humour on this one. i don't generally like when
they do videos because they don't fit the images in my head.
except for street spirit and paranoid android which are
great! and no surprises and karma police. and just and
pyramid song. errr... i guess i like them after all.

i don't mind it really,
i don't really like punch out at a wedding, and i didn't
like we suck young blood, but it grew on me and i liked it
after giving it more of a chance.. i think there is allways
1 or 2 songs on their cds that i wont like, but then love
all the others, and that's not really a bad thing.. because
the song that i don't like might be someone else's
favorite..

scatterbrain annoys me for some reason. it's too upbeat
radiohead. i want them to be sad and miserable! and this
record sure the hell isn't that. it's quite "happy", isn't
it?

i agree
maybe that's the reason the only track from kid A i don't
like is 'optimistic'..

I'm glad they are going back to the rock. Ok Computer is
still by far the best album... probably one of the best
albums of all time. Kid A and Amnesiac was just radiohead
stealing from electronic artists and not doing a very good
job at it.

review from this week's Music Week:

"This isn't an obvious choice of single, but There There's
guitar-driven arrangement and virtually traditional song
structure will quell the fears of those who expected another
blast of electronic flannel from the band. B-listed at Radio
One, the single is slowly getting picked up by the radio,
but the band's immerse fanbase will nevertheless be well
aware of this and their June 9 released album Hail To The
Thief - a top 10 entry is assured."

they gave dizzie rascal single of the week, i have no idea
who he is.
