i don't know about you guys but my PS2 DVD player is
SHITTTT. The sound is fucked, i get this shitty buzzing
whenever I play a DVD. I can't even hear the movie. I got
a lens cleaning kit and used it, it fixed it for about one
DVD viewing then went right back to sucking.

Mine skips like a motherfuck about twice a film until you
give it a kick... this is a major pain in my pale white
arse. And I don't have a DVD player besides that thing.
Other than that it's perfect... I guess it keeps me active,
having to get up and go across the room to boot it a couple
times.

Go and buy a Sony® DVD player for around USD90 and forget
using the PS2 for DVDs... I had a 1st generation PS2 and it
was a nightmare.

The new one does have progressive scan output though, and is
quieter (my biggest complaint with the PS2).

That's the reason I bought an XBOX the same amount of money
as a DVD player and i can play games on it. Instead of
getting a dvd player i recommend one of those. The dvd
capabilites are amazing and you have alot of functions to
play with.
