just rediscovered this lamb cover by bloem de ligny. this
is the girl accused of copying bjork, but i love her music,
for much different reasons than i love bjork. in case there
are opinions on the issue, i'm not particularly interested
in debate over the issue.

listen

if you enjoy lamb (i don't see the bjork comparisons as all
too valid, to be quite honest - i've been a fan of both for
a number of years), and in particular, their seminal tune
'gorecki', you may want to dalve into the source of
inspiration for this song, namely the contemporary polish
classical composer Henryk Gorecki. Symphony No.3 Opus 36 is
perhaps his most reknown. For some qick info and further
links, go here:
about: henryk gorecki

i don't like lamb......the girl has an interesting voice -
but she writes awful lyrics, and the electronics are shit.

anyways, who is bloem de ligny?

i know, but you asked who bloem de ligny is. i just thought
that if you were curious about her as an artist then you
would be interested in how her music sounds.

serafine

i love you

forgive her if she allows a little levity into her music and
enjoys singing outside the bounds of accepted polished
tones. seriously, i would think an open minded crowd such
as this would appreciate such wild abandon!

i agree......i d/l'd a couple songs, from bloem de ligny -
due to Jup's recommendation and didn't like them a all...=/
..i did however like Gorecki.....so for that i'm grateful.

i'm always up for trying new things and such, so while i
might not necessarily like them, i like having the
opporunity to hear them and voice my opinion 0)

*ps ..... i like lamb too* =b

I like Lamb, quite okay. Much better than the sappy EBTG
lady that thinks she is doing jungle anyways...critics seem
to fawn over them...they are okay folkies...but ultra bad
junglists.

Gorecki is a classic.....

I heard a story on British radio one time about this couple
who decided Gorecki was "their" song, they sort of fell in
love to it....... anyway, when they got married they changed
their surname to Gorecki, so they became "Mr and Mrs
Gorecki"!

It's a bit corny/cheesey, but I still think it's a good
story. It's a good thing that they didn't fall in love to a
song like Fuck tha Police, though.

Class.
