he was a loose cannon, he needed to be replaced by picard,
he kept crashing the enterprise and driving too fast

I actually like that cover, it shouldn't be judged too
harshly because it was MEANT to be kind of... erm...
strange. That's like dissing Weird Al for not showing
artistic growth or something. Come on. Billy Shat did a good
job.

Eleanor Rigby by Godhead is truly embarrasing though. Metal
bands shouldn't be allowed to play songs the quality of
Lennon/McCartney tunes.

not completely true.

Shatner did mean that quite seriously at the time. problem
was letting songs that hang heavily on melody being sung by
someone who can NOT sing.

own = zero of their cds

Half-serious or not, it's a camp classic and I'm proud to
blast it out my car speakers downtown like the coolest cat
on Planet Earth. Beam me up, Lucy.

some of the worst beatles covers: i want to hold your hand
by the new christy minstrels, and strawberry fields forever,
not entirely sure who it was but it sounded like lenny
kravitz. anyone heard it? (not the candyflip cover)

fields massacured by Ben Harper.. that guy needs to die now

Here's the full list:

''1. William Shatner - Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds; -
2. Pinky & Perky - All My Loving;
3. Will Young & Gareth Gates - The Long and Winding Road;
4. Damon Hill - Drive My Car;
5. Bananarama with French & Saunders - Help!;
6. Jim Carrey - I Am the Walrus;
7. Wet Wet Wet - With A Little Help From My Friends;
8. Suggs - I'm Only Sleeping;
9. PM Dawn - Norwegian Wood;
10. Candy Flip - Strawberry Fields Forever.''

I've only heard Shatner's (who hasn't) and Jim Carrey's I am
the Walrus... yeah, it's bad. Very... bad. I have hundreds
of Beatles covers yet only TWO of these. *hangs head in
shame

ooohohohohoho

theres this shocking cover of 'across the universe' by some
chick, and it gets played on woolworths radio all the time.

and she goes overboard improvising on the 'deva ah ah ah ah
ah ohmm'

anyway a gay colleague of mine says one time it was playing
'turn down ya dildo honey'

i thought it was very funny.

ah they got dirty later on :]

i heard someone use the argument that music used to be so
innocent compared to the 60s.. and they quoted beatles 'i
wanna hold your hand'

well thats bollocks. the beatles were hell seedy. those
songs are about convincing hot girls to sleep with them :)
