hail to a DIFFERENT thief...

i am of course refering to Garrett, the main character of
Thief: The Dark Project, and Thief II: The Metal Age..

..sneaking into castles, sticking to the shadows, knocking
out guards with blackjacks, or killing them with your sword
or arrow, then hiding the bodies and looking for stuff to
steal or pickpocket...*drool*

both are among my favourite games ever... they have a
totally unique atmosphere and gameplay

they're from the same group who made System Shock 1 & 2 and
Deus Ex, some of the most critically acclaimed games ever

ANYWAYS: Thief 3 is coming out soon!!! its being made
simultaneously with Deus Ex 2, and the development teams are
sharing some members

the first screenshots of Thief III are now available:
yyyoink and yyyyyoink

looks great!!!!

Thief news can be found here

and deus ex 2 (which ALSo looks really cool) info can be
found here

they say Thief III will share the same very open-ended
approach to the missions as Deus Ex.. and this is from an
Eidos press release w/ descriptions of the games they'll
show at E3:

"The stealthy character is rarely seen, never caught, a
master of the ambush and capable of breaking into the most
ingeniously secured places. Garrett steals from the wealthy
and gives to himself, making his living in the dark and
foreboding City. Although Garrett would prefer to be left
alone to ply his trade, the prophecies of an impending Dark
Age dictate a different plan for the thief. Thief pioneered
the concept of stealth action on the PC, and gives gamers
the opportunity to truly play a thief. Take advantage of Ion
Storm's groundbreaking dynamic lighting and shadow systems
-- every character and object, including Garrett, cast
realistic, movable shadows that effect stealth ga

I'll be getting Angel of Darkness when it comes out, despite
the sloppy name. I'm not big on games other than the Tomb
Raiders, though. *shrug*

I'll go download it...I have heard of it, but now that you
express so much love for it, I'll give both of the games a
shot.

Deus ex invisible war was dissapointingly similar to deus
ex. The A.I. was even worse, it was buggy, demanded a
monster p.c. to run it on, it was frustratingly easy, super
short and not open ended at all. What else?
