neat clip.... im not too crazy about adbusters... "the
purpose of this video is not to condem or promote, but only
to raise awareness" lol yeah sure.. thye're not saying this
is BAD.. they just want you to "be aware" of how many logos
youre wearing... you know.. cus its a good thing to know

i think that's the humor in it.

like "smoking awareness" ads put out by benson & hedges.

oh... well even so

i dunno.. maybe its too cynical for me
they hate marketing, but they advertise they're ideas the
same way.. even if its a joke, i'd have a lot more respect
for them, and they're ideas if they were just open and
reasonable... not apealing to emotnios n shit... if actually
led by example more than they do..

i know they're not exactly mcdonalds.. but still

Anyone ever read Class by Paul Fussell? He called
it "legible clothing". Ever since I read that book I can't
bring myself to buy anything with a big-ass logo.

"they hate marketing, but they advertise they're ideas the

yes, they advertise ideas, ideas they believe to be
important for society to understand. not comparable to
advertisement for selfish profit. i don't think anybody at
nike believes their products better society.

yeah, the new mix cd by dj spooky included in the new issue
is very great indeed. adbusters is my favorite magazine
followed by Wire, Grooves, Z Magazine, The Progressive and
finally Zing Magazine.

yeah, I agree with jupitah theyre, they only advertise
theyre name so that people can learn about it so they can
avoid doing what they did before. what I mean is that,
essentially, your finding out about it so that you see
really how bad brand names are. but then again, this
magazine isnt for everyone because it is uber-leftist and
vegetarian\veganism but I love all that stuff. also its
laid it out in awesome design and the pictures and art along
with the text is very powerful.

youre right but im not comparing the morality of the ideas
they're selling... just that they're selling hteir ideas
if they're good reasonable ideas (and a lot of them are),
then they should be able to stand for themselves if
presented clearly and logically, they shouldn't have to be
wrapped in a pretty package

cus this way lots of people pretend to be into ideas like
that to be fashionable and cool and they dont know wtf
they're saying

but of course, all ideas are sold.. i shouldn't be
complaining

i know what you're saying, but people have to be sold. if
you have an idea that you believe is important for the
masses to be exposed to, you can't expect them to come to
you for it. you have to get it to them, and you have to
attract them.
