my problem with eric gorfain's string tributes is as
follows: he said that radiohead was one of his favorite
bands. so, it's fitting that he did the radiohead string
tribute. but before being approached to do the nine inch
nails one, he never even gave listening to nails a thought.
just seems uninspired. also, the tracks he did that i have
heard seem to fall flat on the second listen.

anyhow..if i get around to it i will probably buy precious
things - the tori amos string tribute album because the
title track sounded fabulous and lush, compared to what i
heard of eric gorfain's tool tribute.

mimi, i downloaded the tori tribute and it's only ok.. i
rank them thusly (of the ones i've heard):

radiohead
nin (i agree it's lame he had never heard any nin before
doing the project)
tool (they use drums on this one and some vocals, kinda
cheating)
tori

i'd like to hear the bjork tribute and some of the others

well i just downloaded the string version of crucify and it
sucks ass, so there's some more evidence for you. any
fourth grade string student could have pulled that one off.

Just ordered my copy, this is great, can't wait! I'm so
excited, it just seems like I can never get enough Radiohead
these days. And I just scored tickets see them live at
Alpine Valley on the last day of summer! I'm so happy I
could pee myself.
