i like his music a lot-he is one of those artists im buying
albums from without listening to them first (so far
everything i got is awesome).
i bought "david holmes present the free association"
yesterday and i love it, especially this tracks:
-don't rhyme no mo (very hip-hopish, but with davids style)
-i wish i had a wooden heart
-everybody knows
-la dolce vita
-paper underwear (absolutely awesome!!!)

whole album is a bit more hip hop to his other albums (there
are couple of almost jazzy tunes as well).

he gets mentioned very rarely on this mb-im not sure is this
because ppl dont like his music or he's just not well known
(i doubt this tho hehe)

I'm selling a Free Association mix CD on eBay now, along
with Holmes' 'This Film's Crap, Let's Slash The Seats'.

I haven't listened to anything more than what I'm getting
rid of though, so maybe his other stuff is decent.

"lets get killed" is a class album. but... don´t ever go
and see the cunt DJ. i saw him twice and he is ytterly
crap.. mixing genres in a reallyu careless way. He´s known,
over here, in Ireland, as being a smug, gobshite up his own
arse. Good producer, shit DJ.

Yep. they use that on TV loads. Along with Rodney Yates. You
should all have Lets Get Killed.

Yeah, but the stuff he plays you can't really mix. But he
may be a smug twat roit enough.

Interesting how he's gone from techno to the eclectic stuff
he plays now.

The 'Don't Die Just Yet' EP - the one with the Delakota and
Mogwai remixes - is very very excellent.

he reminds me of amon tobin pretty much (a bit more trippy,
but i like it much more to tobin's stuff)

and yeah, i guess this type of music is pretty tough to mix
live...but as i dont get much chance to see people like
holmes live im limited to his releases, which is fine by me

btw, i always thought he's the 3rd biggest thing in ireland
(behind u2 and dubliners) :)

What's that wierd Irish family/band that seems to be big
everywhere outside the British Isles?

Oh yeah, I reckon Daniel O'Donnell is the biggest thing in
Ireland. That's pretty scary actually. He has middle-aged
housewife groupies who follow him around the world. Whenever
he plays in Nottingham they're camped outside the the
concert hall for tickets for days.

dunno. ahh... we irish are pretty good at slagging out own.
we have a built in begrudgery complex i think! its pretty
stupid actually. David Holmes is a popular DJ alright, but
shit if yer into IDM.

im sure that doesnt stand for everyone hehe
i saw a concert u2 had just outside dublin like 2 years
back, and it seemed pretty crowded to me (could be they were
all germans tho...)

btw, with all this talk about irish musicians...i'm going to
see massive attack on june 5th, and i was kind of hoping
sinead would join them-but now she apperantly finished her
career...i hope she changes her mind again!
