Top five Ae albums? My two penn'orth...

Sorry if there's a similar thread anywhere, can't be arsed
looking etc. etc.

1. Tri Repetae (genius)
2. Incunabula (wonderfully naive, but gorgeous)
3. Amber (beautiful)
4. Chiastic Slide (esp. track 1...shiver)
5. LP5 (another great opener)

Not loving controversy or anything, but Confield didn't
impress me overly when I got it back in England, and I
haven't got it with me here...maybe it'll rise in the
future...there's plenty of time...

I now can't get the first Chiastic Slide track out of my
head...classic example of marrying clanking and beauty IMO
btw... ;-)

Funkmaster and ambsace, I salute you...and can people who
put Draft high up PLEASE tell me how the hell it rates
better than Tri Repetae (one of the best albums of all time)
and Incunabula (ditto for debut albums) ??

(Particularly as it apparently needs to grow on you for
about 75464 years before you realise just how good it is)

Sarcasm mode cancel :-)

1. draft

3. tri repetae
4. chiastic slide
5. garbage

the more you listen to draft, the more it'll grow on you.
Tri repetae is not their best, only if you never gave the
rest a chance. It's really a matter of time! Draft is great.

Tell me WHY??? For example, tell me what's so great about
number 2 (almost unlistenable IMO), number 4 (nothing to
write home about) and number 6...

And obviously you haven't listened to Tri Repetae enough ;-)

So my two faves are your two least faves? Can I assume you
prefer clanking to beauty? (What am I saying, I've just
discovered you prefer Venetian Snares to the 'Pusher man!)
;-)

it's all about opinions ey :)

i listened to incunabula a lot and after so many listens it
got boring for me, whereas confield for instance only got
more and more interesting after many listens (i didn't like
it at first)

that's the beauty of their most recent stuff imo, it doesn't
get boring, but more insteresting instead

ohh IMHO of course :)

Interesting point, but for me "Incunabula" just gets better
with age...makes me all nostalgic to think it's ten years
old this year (isn't it?) It's a bona fide classic I tells
ya! ;-)

shockingly brilliant of course,

there is no real reason, just the more you listen to it, the
more you'll recognize, the more which appeals to me, that's
the magic of music. In fact, The thing with tri repetae is
that i've heard it so much it's starting to sound too
predictable, perhaps a little boring.

it's beauty in another way: Amber shows their melodic beauty
right at the first listen, while you'll need to listen to
draft a couple times before you'll get the hang of it. But
when it does, it's sooooo great
