They lost in years ago. They were so great in early -mid nineties and the last few record they have done have been utter toss (in my humble opinion)
Have been listening to the remixes today though - two double albums worth. Excellent stuff.

I am with you, tokyojo. I used to adore them so much, back in the day... lately they've just been a total disappointment... maybe they will redeem themselves

Both Orblivion and Orbus Terrarum were excellent albums, despite being later releases. Cydonia was kind of a pooper - maybe if they include "orb" somewhere in the title of the album, it will turn out fine

Orblivion is possibly my favourite Orb release, mainly because of Molten Love which is one of the most stunning pieces of music they've produced.

ultraworld still 'does it' for me. all time classic (cause i say so).
adam freeland/tsunami one version of lfc deserves a mention, if not a listen. and andrea parker's version also.

The land of green ginger track was on the Back to Mine record... not that great a track really - hope the rest of record is better, but I am even less optimistic based on that land of green ginger tune.
BTW found a copy of the Aubrey remixes of ultraworld last week for 2USD. I have it already on vinyl but bought it anyway. What a great record that is...

Their track on the 'Pop Ambient 2003' compilation is amazing. Hopefully this is more of the same.

i think that uforb was pretty dull and now sounds dated. all of their albums are spotty, but for me the highlights are pomme fritz, orbus terrarum and orblivion. cydonia was the nadir, and the reason i won't buy any more orb without hearing it first. still, i'm hopeful for a return to form.
