My vote goes for 'Mysterious Traveller' from 'Mysterious
Traveller' absolutely epic. Awesome. You don't know deep
until your hear this track.

say alongside Aphex.

wow! how could i have missed this thread!!!

thank you promo !!! :)
i'm one of WR's biggest fans myself, it's great to see you
like them too.

actually, there are lots of tracks i consider excellent.
yeah, 'Mysterious Traveller' is good, and the entire album
is amazing... my favorite tracks here are 'American Tango'
and 'Nubian Sundance'.

when it comes to such great band as Weather Report it's
really hard choosing separate favorites... anyways:

'Havona' and 'Teen Town' from Heavy Weather
'Elegant People' and 'Hernandu' from Black Market
'Port of Entry' and 'Dream Clock' from Night Passage
'8:30' from 8:30 (Live)
'The Moors' from I Sing The Body Electric
'Will' from Sweetnighter
also, the entire Live and Unreleased album

and you're absolutely right saying that one has to hear it
to believe it.

how about pharoahs by tears for fears? originally the b-side
of everybody wants to rule the world in 1985, it also made
in onto groove armada's back to mine compilation.

i know it isn't BY weather report but the riff is a slowed
down instrumental version of everybody wants to rule the
world with a weather report over the top!

btw, i'm a Squarepusher fan myself and i don't mind Tom
being inspired by some of Weather Report & Jaco's stuff :)

btw, for those who would like to hear their amazing
stuff...

HERE you can download a few Weather Report's
albums. it's free !!!

sadly, there is no 'Heavy Weather' album... imo it's a
perfect beginning to get into their music.

i would recommend listening to 'Black Market' and
'Mysterious Traveller' first, they are good beginners too.

good luck!

i don't mind much. at least tom gives jaco credit in
interviews.. it's more sad that the fans largely haven't
bothered to listen to his influences (the most obvious one
being WP)

frankly, i feel i really should give Tom credit for helping
me discover this band, as it was my love for his music that
prompted me to dig into WR...and i found much more i could
ever imagine.

Yeah I agree 'Tallyho'. Without Tom I would have never got
into Weather Report. And then all the other with Fusion
bands and artists such as Azymuth, Herbie Hancock, Chick
Corea etc etc.
