shit, i thought it kinda sucked myself. maybe not the worst

wasn't up there for me.

i thought half of white pony was good, the other half was
scream bloody murder-fest... ah, to each his own... i like
the more my bloody valentine-esque stuff where he sings
pretty.

i didnt really dig elite, street carp, that knife one, and
korea took awhile for me to dig, but eventually i liked the
lyrics enough to forgive it.

"don't wanna hear about it...
every single one's got a sto-ry-to-te-ell...

everyone knows about it...
from the queen of england to the hounds of hell..."

hhmm, I really didn't like minerva at all.
Gave me a sense of 8-'s glamrock somehow. I hope the rest of
the album is more depressing and wailing like the songs on
White Pony, which is their best imo.

i agree. chino just doesn't seem to have the same emotional,
melancholic feeling in his singing, and the music doesn't
fit their potential i.m.o...
but there's always 1-2 tracks that i don't like on their
albums, while other people might like those tracks the best
and hate my favorites, but that's good thing, i think, that
they include them all..

I haven't heard it yet. maybe I should tune into my local
alterna-rock station (which sucks 99.9% of the time by the
way).

i think it's interesting, the many people who like deftones,
but for different songs and styles that they can have in
their songs and albums. the songs that you mentioned as
being the ones that you liked, minerva, teenager, etc.. are
some of my least favorite, and the ones that you meantion as
being least favorites, elite, street carp, knife party,
korea, are some of my favorites.
i think it's a good thing how varied their songs and styles
are, so everyone finds something they like on the album, but
they can still appreciate and grow to like the other types
of songs /styles on the album.

first album.

minerva's pretty good i guess...
i haven't heard nearly enough of it, to tell.

wasn't this supposed to be a "hardcore" album? wtf.
anyways, ive heard mixed reviews on this album I'll have to
download some more first before getting it.

white pony was their best imo but elite sucked, worst track
theyve ever done as well as messing up the order and
consistency of white pony.

it's ok, it kinda grows on you, but it doesn't strike me as
very mature.

Not like the Deftones are really aiming mainstream, but
sounds like a .hopesfall. song. (kinda sorta.....)
