make the first step into the next adventure , the next
album...

but
what has gantz graf has to do with draft 7.30
I dont see the relation?

The artwork... And I think the drum sounds on Draft 7.30
sound like those on Gantz Graf...

I just bought Draft 7.30... sounds good so far... I bought
EP7, Confield, and now Draft 7.30 in the last 2 weeks or
so... and starting friday I have two weeks off to enjoy
them!!! WOOHOO!! :)

The gantz graff dvd thing was at the store as well, but it
is like 22.99 or something... will have to get that later...

hmmm, I don't really know. I mean garbage were comparable to
amber I think.

And further, I just somehow look at the album and the ep as
a whole. Sounds odd maybe, but Anvil vapre-Tri repetae is a
good combination, as is Chiastic-envane.

And where would you put the peel sessions, the anti ep?

I don't know where to put Gantz either...

I would put envane with tri repetae

anti... (well this was a special case)

garbage is a good bridge from amber to peel session 1 and
tri repetae

ep7 and peel session were the first attempts for confield

cichlisuite is like the end of chiastic ... though it is not
related with lp5 (imo)

some times they are related with the previous album other
times they announce a new direction...

but gantz graf?
is it related with confield or draft?
i dont see it

Interesting, I can follow what you're saying. I don't really
know the exact release dates, so I can't tell you wether the
ep was before or after the album.

I also look at the lay out, and that says a lot, most of the
time. You can easily compare anivl vapre with tri repetae,
envane to chiastic.

Chicli can indeed be seen as leaving chiastic slide era, and
it's indeed not connected to LP5 (not more than any other
release of course, as they are all connected by Ae).

Where would you put anvil vapre?

anvil vapre is with tri rpeate... for me its before but not
sure

but in any case, all of them seem to have a connection with
the albums near to them (before or after).
maybe anti is an exception, but it has a social will
(criminal justice bill) and actually its like 3 years ahead
of its time, wiht one of its tracks being like a chiastic
track (almost)

the cover of Amber glitched to death ?

They all are in a comparable style to the album near them,
except for Anti en Cavity job. And Gantz is definatly one
that stands on its own.
You have to do this: listen to all their records in the
right order, and you will hear they relationships and also
the evolution from Incunabula (as i don't really take Cavity
job as comparable to Incunabula) up till now. That's is
really an interesting journey. (takes some time though).

The ones you're missing are records that don't really belong
in the chronological linkage thing. I forgot to mention, but
according to me splitrmx and We r are why don't belong in
the line.

They're good though, no doubt about that.

anti ep
radiomix
Splitrmx12

(are this available in cd???)
gescom:

all of them

Well,

they are available on p2p networks all over. I bought Anti
ep at a local shop two years ago, so it should be
available.

For Ae releases: anti is available on CD, the rest is vinyl
only. (radiomix is only on mp3).

For gescom, I'm not sure, but I think they all are available
as limited vinyl releases (except for Minidisc that is),
although Iss:sa is out on CD as well.

With a lot of cash you can try e-bay or so, every now and
then they're availble there at ridiculous high prices.

Cavity Job:
12" only

We R Are Why / Are Y Are We? :
12"only

anti ep:
all formats

radiomix:
cd only

Splitrmx12:
12" only

anti ep and We R Are Why / Are Y Are We? shouldn't be too
hard to find.

the rest - hard to extremely hard (radiomix is VERY rare).

I find Gantz Graf very disappointing, and Draft, going
pretty much the same line, disappoints me even more, but I
like Draft because it's more accessible, it even has some
hiphop-like beats, and since Gantz Graf is very
inaccessible, I think I don't like it more than Draft, and
since I don't like Confield too, Draft disappoints me even
more, and to think, Gantz Graf has been done years ago and
it's very accessible compared to Confield, if you look at
the same side that we all loved in Draft, which is their
best album up to date, unlike Gantz Graf, which is like a
sudden breakdown after the glory of Confield. Confield
predicted a lot of things that'll be put on Gantz Graf
later, and since I think Confield is very inaccessible in
the same way in which Gantz Graf is not, I think Draft is a
good album, but very subtle and hiphoppy. And since I hated
Confield, I think that Gantz Graf is a big step forward and
that they should know what they're doing, Gantz Graf is pure
WONDER, I was amazed by its similarity to Draft, which is
shit IMO.

nacmat: You've just listed the exact releases I am lacking
myself. However, I don't really care about being a Gescom
completionist, even though I'd like as much as possible.
Also, the splitrmx and radiomix, like their names suggest,
are nothing more than remixes .. so I don't really care to
bother with those either. Not to mention they're very rare
... Although I am not sure if splitrmx are remixes or covers
...
why r we or whatever it's called.. I thoight it was going to
be easy to find but I was very wrong..

In the en, it's all a matter of opinion off course. It's

And, it doesn't matter that much to me either, as I can

review about envane and chiastic that can help as all with
this subject:

from lonelymachines.org:

.. / Envane

Another Ep, Envane, followed less than a year later. It
shows Autechre pursuing a style closer to the midtempo
hip-hop of the Peel Session than the clinical precision of
Tri Repetae. The sound itself is closer to that of Anvil
Vapre, but the approach is more relaxed and deliberate.
In many ways, Envane marked the last record on which
Autechre did anything that sounded even vaguely
conventional.
*Chiastic Slide
....
A casual listener would never have heard Envane, which is a
crucial link between Anvil Vapre, Tri Repetae and this. As a
result, the dark, organic and edgy material here would have
seemed like the output of a completely different group.
There isn't a single straightforward beat to be found on
this record. If Tri Repetae was the sound of machines coming
to life and chattering away to each other in the dark, then
this is the sound of those machines trying to drag
themselves out of a dark tarpit under the glare of acetylene
lights on some forgotten evil robot construction site.

genius...Keep on autechre..after years you're not slowing

gone and forgotten while you continue to surprise your

If you take a look at the release dates (taken from
www.autechre.nu)

1. Anvil Vapre Releasedate 2 Oct 1995

2. Tri Repetae Releasedate November 1995

3. Envane Releasedate Jan 1997

4. Chiastic Slide Releasedate February 1997

And the Peel session was recorded on 13/10/1995.

It seems more obvious to put Anvil in the same perspective
to Tri as Envane to Chiastic. The Peel session would have to
fit somewhere in between, as you take Ae as evolving in a
direct chronological order that is.

And for me, envane is closer to chiastic both musicwise and
artworkwise, than anvil vapre is.

It's an opinion, and as stated, it nice that Ae have

listening to all their releases in chronological orther.

And no matter how they are related, or are not related, I
