there are several types of geeks that regular this board,
and I am interested to find out exactly what sort of numbers
we're talking about here, the different types are as
follows,

Computer Geek: you spend copious amounts of time on your
computer, occasionally ripping it apart to insert a new
video card, or to rip out the old maxtor hard drive that
just crashed on you (AGAIN!!!), all your programs are
consantly updated, and your backup system is as tight as a
snare rush.

Videogame Geek: Playstation controller firmly in hand, you
often skip days of School/Work/Uni so that you can finish
off a game before you have to return it to the local video
store, You emulate several different game systems and have
complete rom sets, despite the fact that you owned the
system at one point or another, and have played most of the
games anyway.

Music Geek: You memorise releases by catalogue number, sort
your releases by date / record label, etc... you have a
sorted system of biographies, interviews, and pictures of
all your favourite artists, and have several posters/shirts
of each too

choose as many of the following options that apply to you,

Me: one of each

1..Computer geek
1..Videogame geek
1..Music geek

I'm definitly not a computer-geek. (i don't know what the
hell goes on inside these mysterious boxes we call
computers... i just know how to type on the keyboard and
control the cursor with my mouse :-p I wouldn't even dream
of ever opening the thing up!)

I am a videogame geek though, and a music geek. So add that
to your stats.

I'm a combination of computer and music geek....I spend
quite some time looking for new software, doing homework on
my PC (for an ICT study) and MSNing. At the same time I
ALWAYS have winamp playing music.

However your extreme descriptions don't go for me :)

1..Computerr geek
Not me since I don't know a thing, as I have prroved in the
past.

1..Videogame geek
Sorrrry not me, I don't have a games console and I don't
have any on my computerr

1..Music geek
Music is "my thing" so maybe i'm a music geek but i don't
memorrise rreleases by catalogue numberr orr anything, and
my CDs arre simply in no orrderr otherr than all albums by
one arrtist arre in the same spot. I used to have
biogrraphies, interrviews, and picturres of all my
favourrite arrtists but not now, and I still have severral
posterrs/shirrts

So i'm a music geek, if that. I don't know.
of each too

I actually don't have a lot of porn, only 200MB worth!
Didn't one guy here have like 50 CD-Rs worth?

BUT... my 200MB is sparkly perfect, only the finest get into
that folder. Only the strong survive. I don't share it on
Soulseek or anything because it's a true work of art, and
very personal to me.

Computer Geek
Computer Game Geek

I wouldn't class myself as a music geek as I'm far from
obsessive as a record collector- I won't buy something for
completions sake if I think it's poor or only mediocre or
over priced.

time making digital art and surfing the web. i would
consider myself a music geek just cuz it's so important to
me, i used to alphabatize my collection, now i have it

i think i'm 40% a geek in all of those categories... in fact
i must be the worst kind: i don't know a lot at all about
computers, nor about music, and i'm not very skilled in
video games either, but i still spend far too much time
(most of my free time) in all these!! =/

computer geek...in a sense, i don't necessarily rip apart my
computer, but i have a mac...and i do know what goes into
it, and all the aspects of computers, so yes, in a way, but
not as much as pc builders

videogame geek...yes, which i think would include
cartoons/anime/movies/toy collecting! believe me, i have
loads of toys

music geek...by far yes! everything is organized, properly
labeled (if cdr), and CLEAN. i can't stand a skipping cd.
plus i make loads of music. pity i don't put it up
somewhere...zebox here i come!!
