Yup, with Surfer Rosa a close second.

Trompe le Monde was a nice synthesis of everything they
could do, from noise to wistfulness and sometimes both in
the same song.

Man you just gave me a pang for that song, like thirst on a
hot day. I used to listen to that album with my girlfriend
while we ate vegetarian pizza and made beadwork.

:: runs for THAT DISK ::

surprise.

I have Surfer Rosa and love it. Trompe la Monde is great
too from what I've heard.. Planet of Sound, ouch! killer ..
makes me happy to be alive. River Euphrates is the best
track off the first disc.

Surfer Rosa is a fantastic album. Well, they all are, but
that's the most fantastical. I always found Frank Black to
be kind of irrititating though. He has a bit too much fun.
Fun should be outlawed.

all their albums are classics.

I listened to it three weeks straight - nothing else.

also LOVE the Breeders! Title TK is superb!

well they released an album in like 1997 (?) under "The
Amps"(I think this was the name) which was essentially the
same band; so the wait wasn't as long if you got a hold of
that one.

nah, only Kim Deal was in the Amps.

no other Breeders.

its an okay album, some really nice, rough songs on there.

I would say Pod is my favourite Breeders album too. have you
ever heard the Pod demo's?

you can download them from www.noaloha.com

actually I like a lot of Frank Blacks solo-stuff too -
especially the first two albums.

I found the 12" of "hang on to your ego" about a month ago -
pretty hard to find these days! :)

nothing. I havent heard that either, maybe i'll download

yeah I bought those two.

there's a sung version of the pixies-song "velveteen" on one
of them.

he does two covers of Tom Waits' "the black rider" on the
other one. :)

That was a good find ... mmm Surf Epic.

I just found a stash of records that I forgot to rip before
selling my turntable. One of them was the Breeders Head To
Toe 10" ! Now I have to bother my neighbor to see if he'll
load me his record player.

the 2nd single of Title Tk, "son of three" has a live track
on it, recorded in Amsterdam last year.

I WAS AT THAT CONCERT! :)

death to the pixies was kind of a best of, and I think 4ad
is planning a greatest hits sort of disc. but you'd be
better off just getting one of their original albums, such
as doolittle.

I heard all Pixies albums will be remastered (including the
Death To ... hits album) soon, so you might want to hold off
for a little while.

I think you'd want to get all the albums instead of a
greatest hits, but if you're going with the hits at least
you get a kick-ass live disc along with it.

offline nene from United States on 2003-04-22 20:27 [#00664128]

according to pitchfork they're not going to be remastered,
just re-released (which sucks donkey balls).

yeah the pixies! the live recordings of their 2004 shows are
circulating as we speak! i even found today's show on slsk.
long queue though.

anyone going to see them in this summer's eurofestivals?

and the amps! just found out about them last week. the album
sure eased my kim deal appetite for a while. meaning i have
enough to feed on for some time at least :)

I ordered the "tipp city" single from The Amps a week ago.
hope the b-sides are good. :)

I'm kind of afraid of seeing the pixies now. I mean, that
time is gone, better leave it.

on the other hand, if they'd do a normal concert here in the
Netherlands, I would probably go.

not going to fucking Pinkpop for them, though!
