Do any of you remember the ORIGINAL Unreal? God, I'm playing it now, and it's so awsome! Beats loads of other, more "advanced" fps for me...Wonderful and creepy techno music, and wicked gothic/futuristic/scary levels. The atmosphere is shattering....Everyone goes on about Unreal Tournament, but the original is great, imo. |

did you get very far? You should try and progress! Loads of people gave up on it because of the god-awful water temple levels. But I've forced myself through them, and the next bit is amazing....really jolts your imagination...especially that weird choir/techno music. Yeah, the beginning was a great opening to the game too... |

WHAT! Quake doesn't have the "feel" of Unreal....it is so depressing. Quake is way better for online gaming though, but I'm talking single player Unreal here :) |

Doom3 should be. But I want a PROPER sequel to Unreal, with the same dark, alien, beautiful, "alone" feeling it gave me. Unreal2 was shit. |

Unreal2 was shit thx 4 telling me, saves me the download or buy even. Btw I finished unreal1, not in the least by using cheats in the unfair bits. |

You're welcome X-tomatic....Unreal2 lacked any of the emmotional power or atmosphere of the first, and has little or nothing to do with it. It has cheesy voice acting (I loved Unreal1, because it lett a lot to the imagination...) and though it looks VERY hot, it seems to lack any feelings of mystery, lonelyness..etc. Half Life is technically better than Unreal I'll admit, but Unreal created a bigger emmotional response....for me. |

Unreal is a different experience to Half-Life....less "clever" maybe, but I REALLY like Unreal's castles/massive alien outdoor areas/temples etc...and Unreal's music is amazing too. Unreal2 was awful per se, but had nothing to do with the beautiful Unreal. |

yeah i heard unreal 2 was crap too, unreal tournament 2003 was boring too but unreal tourn. 1 was awesome. Quake 1 online is pathetic, you get lag even with cable or dsl (from my experience). anyways unreal 1 was really good but I never beat it and I agree that unreal had more atmosphere than half-life but half-life was just fucking sweet and the better game overall i think. |
